Hey, from Texas Bob Herring emailed the pertinent phone number for the Missouri teachers retirement information. *All Missouri retired teachers now have a $5000.00 "Death Benefits" provision. The lady I talked to stressed a distinction between the five thousand dollar "Death Benefits" as opposed to a five thousand dollar "life insurance" benefit. Am not sure what the difference is since one must "pass away" before the spouse or heirs receive the the five thousand??? This is the toll free number that I called. Mom & Dad spent an independent lifetime working, providing, guiding & being great role models to each of us sisters. They would never have taken or wanted any help in that most important of parental obligations. They will never again be the independent, loving Mom & Dad that we all have known throughout the years. The old James & Margaret would be so totally mortified concerning their situation today at LCN. *Their mental states being somewhat of a blessing at this stage of their lives. Dad always loved this "March Madness" time of year and would especially enjoy seeing Murray State & Kentucky advancing past the first round. (Randall & I have been keeping tabs on all the teams.)
