Has anyone read any articles or have any statistics on declining health and nursing home placement? I wonder if there's any information out there on whether there's a link between the two? And I'm not talking whether it's a super facility or a crap hole, but just is there some correlation between being admitted into a nursing home and overall health? You'd think that "health" would improve...I mean patients are being fed regularly, kept clean, watched over by staff, etc. You know Mom and Dad's environment there is cleaner than they were living at home and THEY are much cleaner. I too somehow thought they'd go into LNC and just be "new again" and instead I'm just more aware of how bad things are. As we've all said before it's the indignity of the whole situation that is so horribly sad. Mom and Dad were always such proud people. It is good that they don't "know" how they are now....Love you, Jamie
