Jeanie this new medicine that they put Dad on for his kidney infection is in addition to the medicine that he was on for his kidneys? I think it was a med that Dr Mulligan's office prescribed before they went to LNC....something about kidney damage and diabetes?? Did they say what caused Dad to have an infection? Not totally emptying the bladder or is it related to the diabetes? The Tetra...I'm assuming an antibiotic...short for tetracycline or did they say Septra which is an antibiotic with a sulfur base instead of penicillin base? It's a lot easier on the stomach and digestive system. Just curious! I too am glad that they are there...I think we acted just in the nick of time...still breaks my heart seeing them at this point in their life though. Getting old is not for the weak!!:) Love you all....Jamie

Those are good questions, Jamie. I had forgotten about the med for his kidney functions that was started after he got to LNC. I'm thinking this is in addition to that. I would also guess that he doesn't empty completely, although that would be more in line with a bladder infection, wouldn't it!?! Don't know, but I'll ask when I go back. Judy is coming to go on Mon, too! Old age is NOT for the weak! Good grief and amen to that! Love you, Jeanie
ReplyDeleteMore than likely Septra which is an antibiotic used for a variety of things including urinary infections
