Jamie, no Brittney and Frank don't have a house yet. They offered them one but it was the pits! There are lots and lots of empties and they're not sure why they wanted them to take crap! They chose to stay in the lodge on base for 90 days unless they find them something before then. The Diablos games are a fun thing for sure! We went when we were there and took Mom and Dad. We have pictures with your family and Mom and Dad. We got hats that matched--purple! Remember? I called and talked to Ona today and she was in good spirits for now. The doctor--which she loves by the way--told her that she was happy because it was a fixable thing. Ona is so relieved that they are at Baylor and doing it there rather than having to have it done in Amarillo. The doctor told her that sometimes they don't show up till later and since it was 9 months it made sense that he would have it now. Ona said that she now knows that the doctor knew something wasn't right when they first got there but she wasn't sure what it was. Something about him being slow at times and that was why she suspected the fluid. Ona had called Jerry Caulder too and talked to him and he assured her that it was normal and not a problem. It will be permanent but not visible or anything. The Colostomy that he has won't be reversed till AFTER they leave Dallas and the doctor told her that Ona would have to learn to take care of it until it was reversed by the original doctor that did it. Ona is dreading it but she knows that she can do this because it has to be done. The goal is for him to go home from Dallas and the doctor told her that she would be amazed at the progress he makes. They will probably stay there for 6 to 8 weeks and maybe even longer. She just wants him well enough to go home and that's been the goal all along as far as Ona and kids are concerned. I told her that I would call Tuesday to check on her and she will have a couple of their friends there with her since they were coming anyway. Denita won't be able to go till Mother's Day which is the 8th isn't it? I guess this next Sunday? Anyway Ona said that Denita would leave school on that Friday before Mother's Day around 10 a.m. because the principal told her that she should leave ASAP on that day for it to count as a full day. She said that he is eating great--he had eaten 6 oz of fish for supper last night and 6 oz of beef today which is a LOT! She said that the nutritionist is working with his proteins so he can gain muscle. I'll let you know if I hear anything else. I hate all of this for her! Love to all, Judy
