Went to see Mom and Dad today! When I first got there, Dad was a little sleepy, but after 2 cups of coffee he perked up and ate pretty good at lunch. Debbie said his blood sugar was 101. Mom was basically the same. She and Daddy were both clean...I think Debbie said he'd had a shower that morning..and their clothes were clean! Room and beds were made and looked really nice. After lunch Dad was ready for a nap and he wanted Mom in there too, so after my good byes I went to see if I could find Michael Smith and Linda. MS...no where to be found, but did find Linda(social worker). The Lanes are on the other side of the nurses station from Mom and Dad, but their room on the other hallway is being readied and they're to move as soon as furniture gets there and house keeping get done sterilizing..possibly this week. Linda said that MS had talked to her and Nikki and said that Alvin and Dad are not to be together period...so we'll see. Speaking of Nikki..she's a piece of work. While I was feeding Mom she came in to the doorway between dining rooms and started talking to Debbie about some of the residents..she made some sort of sassy comment like "Oh you know they're moving him to the other hallway...don't know how that happened.." and then she lowered her voice and stepped out of my line of sight and continued to talk. Then when she was ready to go she spoke back up in her regular voice....you figure she was talking about Dad or us or both? I wanted to say, hey, can you speak up? I can't hear what you're saying about us and I'm sure it's fascinating!! By the way, insurance had NOTHING to do with Mom's appetite stimulant. LNC and the dietitian made that decision because Mom has put on like 30 pounds. It can be started again no problem if she begins to stop eating or begins losing weight. I met the new Head Nurse..Darah. Very nice and she worked as a cardiac nurse for 2 doctors in Jonesboro before coming to LNC. Husband is a farmer and they're from Brooklyn(line). She says she's looking forward to meeting us all and for ya'll to stop by and introduce yourselves. On a side note, during lunch, Margaret (the aide) and another aide were talking and said that Alvin had gone crazy and pulled their hair and grabbed their arm and smock. I asked was that today and they said yes! That behavioral therapy really worked huh? I think that's it for my report! All you sickies get better soon!! Love you, Jamie
