Alot of it is status quo I think and I'm pretty sure it's not the money at this point since Mom is covered and he gets MORE money if Medicaid is paying than private pay!  It's been a problem with results getting back since the start.  The report goes to Becky or whatever her name is and then it takes her at least a day to get it on the chart so that the nurses can get orders to treat it and THIS takes another day because THOSE go to Becky too I think!!!! Grrrrrr.  Is Springs Creek the nursing home there?  The problem with that might be the money since we don't have dad's approval yet and even when we do would they be covererd in Kentucky the same as Arkansas or do you start over?? As for clothes--no clue!!!!  There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to what they put on her.  Dad always looks pretty good I think--it's mainly Mom.  Pam said that Jody is going again tomorrow and I'll post after I hear from her.  I'm going to call Becky tomorrow though and tell her that we can't dilly dally around with a UTI on Dad!!! Love to all, Judy

Has

I know I've asked this before, but what happens to those people who don't have family that come to visit almost everyday?   Are they dirtier, wait longer for test results and get their food even slower?  I mean,  does LNC not get it, or do they just not care or is this just status quo for them? Does this happen at every nursing home?  I think I know what my pet project is going to be when I get to Murray...I might be limited on what I can do to make LNC be all they can be, but I dang sure will have lots to say when it comes to Spring Creek nursing home.  These procedures are crazy...it shouldn't take 3 days for test results..of any kind..blood, urine or xray and no excuse for dirty or stained clothes! Common sense would tell the worker that the clothes need to be thrown out...a simple call to the family asking permission to throw them out is too easy!   This stuff just kills me...what has happened to the world and customer service and common human decency?  Is moving them something we should think about? Is Spring Creek an idea you'd like me to look into?  It seems to me, things have gotten worse with LNC since Mom and Dad moved in there...has there been a huge staff change? Are they p-oed because of the money situation?   Sorry...I tend to bombard with questions...I'll just be glad when I'm closer...Love you all,  Jamie
Pam texted me that Jim got off early so she went to see Mom and Dad.  She said Dad was SO confused!  He was sitting by the desk when the phone would ring, he wondered how/where to answer.  They told her that they had gotten a urine specimen (I'm thinking today!) but that it would be 3 days before they got the results.  I'm calling the director of nursing tomorrow to check on it and every day till it's on his chart because that adds an additional day.  Her name is Beck isn't it Jeanie?  She also said that Mom was asleep--big surprise!!--and that her shirt was that ugly blue thermal one and was filthy.  I'm thinking that's the one she had on last week that is full of stains! Ugggggg!!!!  She has new clothes in her closet and why are they reaching for these every day!!!!! Makes me want to slap someone!  They also don't have Dad's xray report back!  I need to get off here before I say ugly words! Love to all, Judy

Thanks Jamie and yes I've been truly blessed with 2 daughters who their Dad would be so proud of!  As for hotel living--more than 2 days is too many!lol  You seem to be coping and I too are sitting here eating popcorn in my jams!lol  Life is good! Jeanie be careful tomorrow!  I know Ryan will have an amazing time and I'm looking forward to pictures! Tell Molli and Marty to be careful going home Pat! Hi to you Pam!lol Love to all, Judy
Hey, an over 59 party sounds pretty good-----assuming we're all still able to drive by then! LOL! As for living in a hotel/motel---that would have to get REAL interesting quickly! I don't like 'too friendly' at all! Sorry, not at all! I hate Jason is sick, but I'm thinking SURELY it has to do with the weather. Jeremy is STILL sick with his coughing! I do NOT like it one bit! Of course, Ryan is in Africa and I REALLY don't like that either. Is there a pattern here? I think so! LOL! Ok, off to clean my kitchen. I'll be leaving around 7 in the morning to go pick up the girls. It's suppose to be hot and hotter here the next few days. Hey, lots of ice cream and CapriSuns for the natives! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie
Judy, I loved that picture and caption that Leisa posted...she's so sweet and such a great daughter! I'm glad everyone had such a great Memorial Day!  Jeanie, so happy you had a good visit with Dad!  I'm so thrilled he still knows things...I hope he continues to be strong!  Let's just hope he doesn't try and stand up again anytime soon!! :)   Pat, hope Molli and Marty had a good visit...I know you miss her!!  Jason and I continue to hang in there!!  He is feeling better I think...can't believe he has strep!!  I'm trying to de germ as much as possible...that's all I need is strep throat!!  Staying here has been interesting to say the least...I've been asked out on a date by a 55 year old wounded warrior that's staying here...obviously, he suffered a traumatic brain injury! The housekeeper on my wing is way too friendly..she even followed me into my room the other day talking about my purse!  Laundry room is very clean and right around the corner and the free breakfast every morning is awesome!! I've even gotten pretty creative cooking with a crockpot and microwave!!    22 days left!!   Ok, this baby is signing off  :)...I'm working a crossword puzzle and eating popcorn while wearing pjs in bed...pretty sweet deal! We should have a huge party in November celebrating the over 59 crowd..hey remember, you're not getting older, you're getting better...well actually, you are getting older, but so am I, so I say any reason to party!!   Ok, I'm stopping before I get in any deeper!!  Love you all,  Jamie
I will be totally shocked if the xray of Dad's hip shows anything since there were no complaints to any of you that visited.  Jeanie asked Debbie about getting a urine specimen when I was there Thursday!  Wonder why it takes so freaking long to get one!!!  I guess they have to have an order but surely the doctor in charge there has an answering service where someone could be reached 24/7 to order a urine for a UTI! Nursing homes are famous for these things and you'd think it would be a snap to get an order, find results and start meds.  Leisa and I went to Little Rock to the VA cemetery and Memorial Day service and it was super nice.  Gov Beebe had the program like last year and I have to say he does a great job!  Mark Pryor was there, someone from John Boozman's office, Jim Guy Tucker---all Democrats but whatever!lol  The cemetery itself is beautiful.  There are approximately 300 new graves since Dean was buried just in that ONE section!  Crazy!!!  There were huge American flags at the entrance and all down the drive to the place where Dean's service at the cemetery was and where all the chairs for the ceremony were set up.  All of the thousand or more graves all around had an American Flag.  Beautiful but really sad!  Check out Facebook and see Dean's headstone that Leisa posted.  It's a beautiful picture and she wrote My American Hero or something like that.  Very touching.  Hope all had a good Memorial Day! Love to all, Judy
I went to see Mom and Dad today about noon! They were in the dining room eating. The girl was having a hard time getting Mom to eat, so I took over and fed her all her lunch except for the spinach and bread. She did good. I talked to Dad a lot and took him a poppy (put it on his shirt) and the newspaper. I told him about the Memorial Day's service and we talked about the poppy---I asked about why a poppy to see if he knew and he did! I told him about Ona's birthday and how well Randall was doing. He said he was glad Randall was doing so well. He said a head injury was a bad thing. He actually looked really good. His speech was still mumbled, but to me he looked better than last week. Debbie told me the same thing that she'd gotten the orders to do a urine sample. They're going to try to get it tonight---just letting him pee and using a catheter! I like that. Mom opened her eyes a couple of times and smiled a couple of times. I told her it was Ona's birthday and talked to her about several other things. At one point she said something and started to kind of cry. I don't know what she said, but she obviously did. Anyway, it wasn't a bad visit. I actually felt like I talked to Dad today. I asked about the x-ray, too, and Debbie said it was fine as far as she knew. Dad remember Jody coming last night---I asked if he knew who that was and he said yes. I asked if Pat and Molli had been there today and he didn't know. Go figure. When I told him Ona was 69 today he was like golly! Do you know come Nov that 5 of the 6 of us will be in our 60's!!!!!!!!! How's that for awesome as parents!?! Only one little baby will still be in her 40's----boo!hoo!how sad! LOL! NOT! Ok, the Memorial Day service here was really nice and there were a lot of people there---which was a good thing! Love you all, Jeanie
Molli and got to LNC about 10:00 this morning.  Dad was in the big room in his wheelchair chewing tobacco.  Mother was sound asleep in bed.  I asked Debbie about the xray results and they hadn't gotten them.  She said she had ordered a test for Dad to see if had a UTI because he had been extremely confused.  I told her I thought he needed that test done.  He did act confused when we were there, but he seemed to know Molli and I both.  Debbie said he had eaten all of his breakfast so that was good.  Anyway, not an exciting visit, but then how many are?  It was great having Molli home.  They haven't been here since Christmas!   We went to see them spring break and Marty is always busy on the weekends with his music.  Jerry and I are going to try to go see them within the next 2 weeks so that we can visit with Ona and Randall before they leave.  Okay, off to finish my laundry and get ready for my last school week.  Yay!!!   love, pat
That's a lot going on there, Ms Judith! LOL! You never know what the response will be, but that's the first time they've done an x-ray of Dad's hip. He's fallen out of his chair several times, but if there's a question, then they need to do it. Pam, thank you Jody for going by to see them. That's great. She'd be a good pair of eyes to have on them. I'm still wondering about the mumbling. I'm going to try to make it down there today and will ask again about a possible UTI. Probably not, but I'll ask anyway. Judy I'm glad Leisa is going with you today to the VA Cemetery for the program. I'm going to try to make it to the one they have at the courthouse at 9 this morning. I'm always so moved by these ceremonies. What a blessing that these men and women have given us all. Pam, thank Casey for his service. Jamie, thank you and Jerry for all the years of sacrifice you and he have given to us all. Ok, off to start my day. Love you all, Jeanie

Sunday, May 29, 2011

I think I talked to everyone but wanted to be sure that we all got the same information.  LNC called me and said that Dad had fallen out of his wheelchair.  He had gone to standup and landed on his butt. " Tony" said that Dad wasn't complaining at all but since it was a fall they wanted to get a mobile xray to make sure it was fine.  I forgot to ask if that meant today or not and called back and yes it was going to be done tonight.  He said that they wouldn't have results till probably tomorrow but that Dad seemed fine--he did say of course he's not a doctor and can't say he's fine but that Dad had asked for another chair and they helped him and Dad was "kicked back" with his legs crossed.  Sounds like he's ok but I guess you never know.  I called Pat and asked that she and Molli tomorrow check with them to see what the results were and Molli could just read it for us!!!lol  Hopefully it will be fine. Love to all, Judy
Okay, Judy, I finally can post again!  pat
I got a text from Pam and I'm doing a post about it for her.  Jody went to see Mom and Dad today and she said they were eating and that Dad had eaten almost everything and someone was feeding Mom.  Daddy didn't recognize her but she said he was very pleasant and she described his mumbling as "gurgling". Mom of course was slumped in her chair and wasn't talking as we all expect.  Jody said she could understand some of what Dad said but seemed to be talking in the past tense as if work related.  He did mention Jamie's name once though.  She said that they both looked clean and she thought Mom had on a pink sweatsuit and not sure about pants.  I don't remember if Mom had a pink one but maybe she did.  Jeanie will know.  Jody is going to stop by and check on them again on Wed and Thurs of this coming week too and Pam let me know and I'll gladly blog about it.  Love to all, Judy
testing
Well, I guess what I typed last night went in to cyber space! Anyway, Molli and Marty are here for the weekend. Molli and I are going to see Mom and Dad Monday morning. She couldn't go today because they're going to church and eating lunch with his parents. love you, pat
Here is the first and second posts you did Pat. I went to edit, clicked on the one I wanted to edit, it came up here and then I clicked publish post. LOL I'm a computer genius!!! NOT!!!Love, Judy

Saturday, May 28, 2011

Okay, Molli and Marty are here. Molli and I are going to see Mom and Dad Monday morning, because they will go to church with his parents and eat lunch with them tomorrow. I usually go on Sun., but this week it will be Monday. Sorry, if this interrupts plans, but that's just how it worked out. I'll let you know how they were. I'm finished with school next Fri. so maybe I can go see them more often. love you, pat
Well, that all sounds good for Pam. I'm glad Dad woke up and was able to visit with her. I don't like the mumbling stuff at all. I will go on Monday. I may be able to go on another day, but this week is going to be nuts, and then Sat is Jon's wedding! Tomorrow I'm cooking for the fam, and Macie has a birthday party. Anyway, Pam and Pat if you can go more this week, that would be great! Jamie I will be so glad when you're back to Murray. It's getting really close now---about 3 weeks! WOW! You've been through a lot these last couple of months, BUT you've just about completed this marathon! Can we say: YIPPEE!!!!!!! Anyway, I'm just checking in with all of you before I hit it! Bruce and I worked outside all afternoon, and I am pooped! It was hot and dusty! LOL! I worked under the porch cleaning out that area! Nasty! Love you all, Jeanie
Pam texted me today that she had been to see Mom and Dad and that they were ok. They were both in bed sleeping when she got there (Mom was snoring) but Dad woke up and seemed really glad to see her. They got him up and he had a snack of cheetos and grapejuice. She said he mumbles most of the time but his expressions tell you that he knows what he's talking about. He told her that he had watched a ballgame between Arkansas and Memphis??? NO clue if that's real or not!lol She said he was in a really good mood and was really sweet. Mom had on that blue sweatshirt with the light colored flowers on one side. I told Pam that yes that was Mom's and one of the ones I had bought her. Not sure about pants since Mom was sleeping. Jim leaves for Guatemala on Thursday but she said she would go see them on Tuesday and maybe Wednesday too because I told her that Jeanie would be out of pocket with babysitting gradbabies! I'm thinking you'll go Monday Jeanie and if Pam goes Tuesday/Wednesday that would be great. She said she'd try to get Jody to go on Friday/Sat and then Pat I figure you'll go on Sunday. That should all work out great! Pam was saying she wish she could go more and I told her that maybe with Jim out of school she could do that. Ok, Pat, Pam, Jeanie feel free to add/correct me on these things! I'm posting for you Pam but feel free to delete or correct whatever!lol I talked to Jamie on my way home today and she hopes to be in Kentucky by the 23rd or 24th. I know you're anxious Jamie! Just be careful when you leave there driving all that way!!! Love to all, Judy

I pray the same for you Jamie and there is NOTHING you could do/have done to reverse ANY of this! It absolutely is what it is and we all have to believe that deep down they know how much they love us and we love them. We were so fortunate to have them as parents! You were so special to them though that there is NO way they could forget you! It will be ok!~ You'll be here soon as see for yourself. Maybe you won't think there is much difference. Love to all, Judy
Judy glad you made it to Mom and Dad's! It kills me that Mom is going downhill so quickly! I'm so anxious to get home to see her! I pray she and Daddy stay strong...I worry about them and worry if I've waited too late to start this journey toward home. I only hope that somewhere deep down, they remember how much they are loved. Hope everyone has a great weekend...love you, Jamie

I made it to Jonesboro! yeaaaa!~ As for how Mom and Dad were the answer has to be just ok. Mom has just gone down hill as far as awareness by leaps and bounds just since I was here last which was just a few weeeks ago. I never did really get her to open her eyes more than just slits. She did open them maybe halfway for Dad once when she looked up and said "Oh hi hon" to Dad and smiled at him. Later on she did the same to Dad and did say Hi Precious to me or someone at least once too. Her clothes were all back in her closet today which was good but she looked like an orphan in somebody's clothes but not her own. It was beyond tacky! Jeanie took several more ugly clothes out and wadded them up in the bottom of her closet and will get a walmart bag and pitch them on the next visit. Eventually Mom will have only clothes that are good in there! Dad seemed kinda out of it today. Not really any worse than he has been though I don't think but Jeanie said she thought his speech was worse. He had just woke up when we got there and I'm not sure he even knew who we were at first. He did name all of his girls for me and he did ask me "where did jeanie go" when she went to the office. He talked to some woman he called Judith and I was afraid he thought she was me and I was going to have a fit cause she was old and ugly!!!LOL He did make some normal sentences about things though. Both ate really good. They DID puree Mom's meat though and thickened her liquids. At the same time they gave her scalloped potatoes and a pile of mixed vegetables that had big hunks of onions, squash, carrots, etc in it! The young aide said that she didn't blame us for not wanting her stuff pureed and it was our decision. I told her that our decision was NO to the puree. The thickened liquids seemed to work out ok for her though. The girl said she had eggs, biscuits and stuff for breakfast today though so nothing was pureed at that meal. We'll just have to see if that continues. Jeanie said she would watch it and then would say something if everything turns to puree! Jeanie asked Debbie to watch Dad too for signs of a UTI because of the slurred speech and disorientation. Michael Smith wanted to talk to Jeanie and wanted to see where we were as far as the medicaid/private pay situation. He knew Mom's had been approved and had even gotten paid from Medicaid! yea to that!!! The final amount for us to come up with and pay won't be known until after the appeal on June 23. Instead of "start your engines", the byline is "have your money ready"!lol Pat it was good to see you at TJM! Please feel free to stop by and spend the night on your way to Texas to see Ona/Randall. Jamie I'm so excited for your move here soon and we told Dad today that you would be here before too long! On a good note, Brittney and Frank were finally offered another house at El Paso because his first sargeant called and talked to them and said she wanted them in a house so Frank can go to school at the end of the month. They are scheduling their stuff to be delivered to the house hopefully on June 2. It's an older house but has been renovated and has lots of storage and a big flat yard for the boys to play. I love it!! Okay, that's it. Jeanie is calling me to eat!lol Love to all, Judy
I agree about Mom's food...if she's eating it and not having issues, leave it as is. I wish they were as concerned about Dad's weight loss as they seem to be about every little thing with Mom! So did they find Mom's new pants? Keeping the laundry straight can't be that tough...isn't that the purpose of writing their names in/on the clothes? Crazy...alot of that is just laziness about wanting to keep up with things...I hate lazy!! The hotel is nice..free washer and dryers, free breakfast and USAToday newspapers, free wi fi, not to mention having someone come in and clean everyday!! Plus, I can walk to the px, the commissary or the library! I'm not sure how I'm going to get all this stuff to KY...I'll have to mail some packages...we won't all fit in the Volvo for sure!! Did you have any damage or scares from the tornados? Did you see Joplin? Wow!! I remember when that big tornado hit Jonesboro when I was kid...I had never seen damage like that!! Jerome said we had some wind and huge hail, but no damage...I hope all this bad weather is about over!! We're cool and rainy here...suppose to be that way over the weekend too! Hope all is well...Love you, Jamie

Wednesday, May 25, 2011

Well as evidenced by Jeanie's note, I didn't go today because Jonesboro and Hot Springs are both suppose to get major storms including tornadoes! No I don't want to be in a car with a tornado coming!lol I told Leisa today that it would have to be a tornado right in front of me before I'd ditch my car for a ditch! I just figure the tornado would pick the car up and drop it on me and I'd be in a ditch with a car on me!! NO thanks!! Leisa said it probably would pick the car up and drop it somewhere else and I'd get a strangers car dropped on me! That way I'd lose my car, my purse and my ID!lol I don't think so! Anyway, the new plan is to go tomorrow. The thing about Mom's clothes missing is that I figured as soon as we put them in the closet they would be gone. That pair of khaki ones that are missing had the $44 tag on them until I took it off to wash them before taking them down there. They were super nice pants, perfect size, color, etc. If they're not there tomorrow that will mean she never even got to wear them!! I'm going to be hacked to say the least and will have to talk to whoever is in charge of laundry to tell them to find them! Jeanie had written her name on the inside and the ink had gone through them so whoever is wearing them will have Mom's name on them between waist and butt! I may be in search of butts to find them tomorrow! Grrrrr it makes me mad!! I don't know why they had us label everything and list everything when we came in if they're not going to be accountable for any of their clothes. The pair Mom had on today were crappy pants that aren't even hers! Plus a pair had been put in her closet that weren't hers either! Let's hope for someone's sake that they are back in the closet or on her body tomorrow or I might go off on someone! It won't be pretty either!lol Okay, will eventually get there and eventually post! This weather has been a killer! Literally!! Ona texted me this morning that they had gotten into the hall at Baylor last night because of storms for about 45 minutes! Scary stuff out there! Be careful! Love to all, Judy
Went to see Mom and Dad today. Mom was in bed asleep (it was about 9:00). She had on one of the new shirts and a pair of knit pj bottoms! GRRRR!!!!!!!! I looked in her closet and all of the new things were accounted for except a pair of tan pants. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt about them for now. Turn-around time for the laundry is one day, SO maybe they are on their way back to the room. IF they're not there tomorrow, Judy and I will ask about them! There was another pair hanging in her closet that I'd never seen before---knit pj's with stains. I'm pitching them tomorrow. Dad was kind of irritated this morning. Said he'd been there 4 and 1/2 hours and something about coming all the way from Cuba and something about Georgia being in the hospital. I asked who that was and he said someone in the family. I'm wondering now if Pat Wallace sent him something about Allen Shelton being so sick. Don't know. I told him the only one in the fam in the hospital was Randall. He asked if Judy was coming and said Jamie still hadn't come. I explained all of that to him again. After I got home, I got to thinking about it and wonder if he's getting another UTI! I'll ask about it tomorrow, too. Nikki was there and I don't really trust her much anymore. Sorry. She snagged me as soon as I got there and wanted to know what we'd decided about the pureed food and thickened liquids. I told her the same thing I told Lisa that called---no to the food! She said she'd seen Mom choke and cough so many times---I haven't seen Nikki in a LONG time in the dining room at lunch! Funny! Anyway, I went because I'd told the girl and Dad I'd bring him some razors. While I was telling Dad I'd brought them, Nikki goes in the med room and comes right back out. She had called the speech therapist, and the therapist said Mom's chewing wasn't productive chewing moving the food along to swallow. Here's my thoughts then: give her softer foods that she can just swallow whenever! Her diet is 'mechanical soft' now---meaning that the meat, etc is ground up. What's the problem with her swallowing it whole!?! I don't see any. Nearly every meal I've seen where the food is pureed is never eaten! I did tell Nikki that the 'thicken' liquids was ok---my concern was IF she'd get enough liquids. Nikki said SURE she will, I keep liquids for her all the time------LIAR, LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!!! I told Nikki that I worried about how much liquids she got because I didn't think she got enough now! Anyway, Michael Smith then snagged me in the hall as I was coming back with a newspaper for Dad and wanted to see me. I went by his office and waited 15 minutes while he was with another family admitting their mother. Made me sad and mad and wanted to yell "DON'T DO IT!!!!!!" Anyway, the humidity has my nerves on edge I guess because I'm definitely not calm today! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie

Tuesday, May 24, 2011

WooooHooooo Jamie you are getting closer and closer! Pretty soon you can say "I'll be there this month!!" Won't THAT be awesome! I too agreed with NO to pureed food! That's like the end stage for me! Not ready for that yet! I'm driving up in the morning. I'll leave around 8 and will be there by 11 to go there with Jeanie for lunch. I'm anxious to see them too because it's been a few weeks for me since I saw them. I'll post afterwards! Hurry home Jamie!lol Love to all, Judy
Hey, the check's in the mail! LOL! I'm fixing to mail it in about 20 minutes! I am so proud of you for all you've done/organized/accomplished! Feels good, doesn't it!?! LOL! Mom does talk on and on some, but to no one in particular and not much of it either. She doesn't open her eyes much. They called today and want to change Mom's diet to pureed foods and thickened liquids--the consistency of honey for the liquids. I said no. Mom ate french fries, a chicken sandwich, pea salad and cake yesterday! Today they want it pureed!?! NO! We'll see if it becomes an issue! Ok, I'm off to run errands. Love you all, Jeanie
Cleared quarters yesterday...again, one more step!! I still have a couple of things left on my plate to complete...a Red Cross meeting today, a farewell party tomorrow and a Change of Command for the Wounded Warrior Battalion commander and then it's just a few logistically things, like mailing a couple of packages to Murray, signing out of post, graduation and then the drive. My list is getting shorter!! I feel like now I'm over the hump and coasting downhill...coasting is good!!:) Jeanie, my mailing address here is JBLM Lodging(Rainier Inn), Jamie Penner Bldg 2111/Rm 124,PO Box 33085, Lewis-Main, WA 98433-0085 Let me know when you put something in the mail and I'll alert the front desk to watch for it! Glad Mom looked good in her new clothes! Does she not really open her eyes anymore or talk? Not even rambling? Poor Daddy...I can't wait to get over to see them...seems like it's been so long! I can't really let myself think about it...but I will be so glad when I'm home!! Ok, gotta hit the showers and head out the door! Love you all, Jamie

Monday, May 23, 2011

I went to see Mom and Dad today. Mom had on one of the new outfits Judy found at the yard sale! It looked so good on her! The girl said that they'd put another one on her yesterday, too! Good! Those clothes I threw away were horrible! IF the weather ever clears up enough here to go, I'll find her more. Right now at least she has something to wear that looks good! Mom was about the same. She eats really good which is so weird considering the fact that she looks like she's asleep the whole time! She did open both eyes today and smiled at me. Her eyes have just so much gook in/on them! Dad was pretty good. He seemed really tired today. I asked him if he'd gotten up early, and he said he'd been awake all night. I was talking to him about Ona and Randall, Jamie's movers and some other stuff. He asked me when I and the boys were going to Texas! He got all the stories stirred together! LOL! Hey, it is confusing when you hear all that's going on! Anyway, I've got to take him some more razors on Wed. The cheap ones they have hurt Dad and pull on his whiskers, he says. I also got a call from Beth today after I took the papers I had to sign to her. DHS wants a copy of the letter where I dropped Mom's AARP and a copy of Dad's new bill! I told Beth that this whole thing has bordered on harassment! I'm serious. There's no way they are this fine tuned on every case---no way!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I'll take those to Beth tomorrow to send off. Hopefully THEN it will be enough on Mom's! I also asked about the $40 they get to keep each month. Do I have to ask DHS to ok each check for stuff for them---like Dad's razors, or can I just write one check for cash each month for the $40? She said I could just write a check for the $40, but I'd need to be sure and label it for what it's for! So much red tape to deal with all of this stuff! Ok, I'm off to bed. Good job Jamie on all that moving, packing and sorting! What a job! Glad it's done and not waiting for you to do it! Love you all, Jeanie
Jamie so glad you're back in the loop! I know the moving/packing is stressful but with any luck at all this will be the final move for you!! Can we say happy??? Jason and his girlfriend looked so adorable for Prom! I know you're proud of him! Such a cute couple and he said it was an amazing prom! Thanks Jeanie for Katilyn's birthday wishes and you're right she is a great kid and I love her dearly! She makes me smile! Can't wait to hear how Mom and Dad are and my plans for the moment are to drive up early Wed--early enough to go to see them at noon--and then either drive on back that same day or early Thursday. I know it will be a fast trip but I NEED to see them and I know you understand! Sometimes I feel they are slipping further and further away and I don't want to miss every chance to see them that I can. Love to all, Judy
I'm back on line!! Yes!! The movers finished up around 6:30 on Friday! I stayed and did some cleaning until around 9:30 and then came to the hotel and collapsed! I have my final check out this morning and then I'm done! Hotel is nice and I'm typing on my new MacBook Pro I bought at the PX yesterday...I may pass it on to Jason in the fall, but I doubt it!!:) The moving experience was interesting to say the least. The company that came out to crate the grandfather almost let it topple over...I started screaming and grabbed it...I think my smart ass comment was something like "what part of extremely top heavy did you not understand?" Everything was fine...I hope..and no more problems with them! I even paid out of pocket for them to crate my old kitchen cabinet the next day!! The packers broke a blue willow plate and ripped the rung off my old wicker rocker...sucks because I had all my wicker painted so nice!! I've already got a claims form started...hopefully, this will be all the damage, but I don't know! Anyway...I'm one more major step toward Kentucky!! Pat, do take some pictures and post them of the baby llama. Did you name it Tina? (from the movie Napoleon Dynamite) Jeanie, can't believe Jeremy is still so sick!! Bless his heart, hard to teach when you feel like crap!! Hope he's feeling better soon! I'll check today about the mailing address for the hotel and get that to you. Ok..off to shower and then head over to the house...I've got cable boxes to return and a couple of thank gifts to buy today for my girlfriends who've helped me over the last 5 days!! Oh..furniture won't be delivered to Jerry until the Thursday or Friday after Memorial Day..he had 2 loads to pick up and deliver to Texas, 4 days break with his family and then on to Kentucky..wish it was sooner, but I just want it there safe! If you can find a few extra prayers, it would be appreciated!:) Love you all, Jamie
Tell Katilyn I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY to her today!!!!!!! She's a great kid, and I know you all are so proud of her and love her dearly! I like HAPPY! LOL! We finally did get rain last night---two or three times the lightning woke me up, so I'm guessing it was raining/storming then. Went right on back to sleep though! LOL! I'm going to go see Mom and Dad today and will write later. Love you all, Jeanie

Good grief Jeanie, I can't believe you didn't get rain since yesterday morning! We got a TON! It stormed 3 or 4 times and just poured and then the hail! I won't have to water anytime soon though!lol We are going to Chili's tonight for Katilyn's "eat out at your choice" restaurant for her birthday which is tomorrow. Then tomorrow night Bryan is cooking his famous burgers and onion rings for her at her request and I'm making her cake. These grands are growing up fast!!!lol Love, Judy
OMG! Pat that is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will definitely bring the girls out to see it! How precious!!!!!!!!!! I'm suppose to get them a week from Tues, so hopefully it won't be big by then! That is awesome! I'll try to get to Kohl's and get the books, too! How great is that for timing! LOL! Judy, I can not believe you had that much hail! What on EARTH is with THAT! We haven't gotten any rain really since early Sat morn! It looks and feels like it would open up and pour any minute! Hey, you can keep the hail!!! LOL! Jeremy went back to the doc today at 1:00! He is just sick---period! Same thing told to him again---major sinus infection--which has led to the headaches and MAJOR coughing! She gave him a steroid and something else---he didn't know what. She told him that it should knock it right out pretty fast. She asked him if he'd been doing anything to help---he told her he'd used the neti-pot or medi-pot which ever it is. It's that thing that looks like a small pitcher that you can use to flush your sinuses. Anyway, she told him the research really did support that and that it was about as effective as an antibiotic, but you have to use it 3 times a day. She said some people use it regularly to help prevent a sinus infection. Interesting! Anyway, let's hope this does work. I'm sick of him being sick. The girls seem like they're doing ok now---fingers crossed here! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie
Oh gosh Pat that is exciting!! Those Llama books sound adorable. Kohl's always has the cutest books and stuffed animals that match! Take some pics and let's see what a real baby llama looks like! We had 3 calls from the emergency system here during the night! All were for Severe Thunderstorm warnings and the one about 5 a.m. was followed by a LONG time of hail!! I got up and looked out the window and my yard was covered in marble size hail. I think this is the 3rd time so far this year! Going to be a long summer!!!lol Love to all, Judy
OMG, we have a baby llama! It was born this morning and it is so funny! It looks like a baby giraffe with its long neck and long legs. Jeanie, you'll have to be sure and bring Dylan and Pepper out here to see it when they're here. The mama had the baby right next to the fence by the road! By the way, Kohl's "books for charity" this time were the llama books, "Llama Llama misses Mama" and "Llama Llama Red Pajama" and of course I had to get those for Addison. You can also buy the Llama stuffed animal , which I did, and they're all $5.00 a piece and the money all goes to children. The books are hardback and adorable. Anyone with little kids needs to get them. They'll only have them for a certain period of time. love you, pat

Ok, I got a letter today--actually two letters today----from DHS! JOY! NOT! The one said that they'd received the info that there was NO interest on the bank account and were taking that off Dad's DCO-712 form (DHS's statement about how much he's to pay)---well, no, duh! It's a non-interest bearing account---thus no interest there! The second said that Mom had served her penalty period and that Medicaid would now begin to pay as of April 29th! They alloted her the AARP premium and her $40 allowance and gave an amount to be paid to the nursing home. The only other question I have is I canceled her AARP since she has Medicaid. Hopefully this doesn't cause any problems + I want to dissolve her Miller's Trust (DHS says it's still there). Hey, we're getting closer! OMG! I'm beginning to see some light at the end of this VERY long tunnel! Hope all of you have had a great weekend. Jeremy did go to the doc and did get a z-pack. He's still not feeling too good, but hopefully NOW he'll be on the mend! Love you all, Jeanie

Thundering, lightning, rain etc here too. I think we need the rain though because my flowers are looking a little sad!lol I hope to be able to go to some sales tomorrow and try to find Mom some more clothes that I'll bring when I come up. I'm still not exactly sure when that will be because Katilyn's real birthday is Monday and Leisa had asked me to bake her cake. Bryan is cooking burgers and onion rings on Monday night when she'll open her presents and have a few friends over. I had thought I'd drive up Sunday, go visit Mom and Dad on Monday and then head home but don't see me doing that and still making it home in time to shower and bake a cake!lol I'm not nearly as fast as I once was!!!Lol I'll get there within the week though and will give a report when I do! Love to all, Judy
I went to see Mom and Dad today. They were ok. Dad looked really good---he'd bumped his lip on a lift in the hallway---but it was ok. I took him the paper and talked to him. He was a little more confused than the last time, but I really think he was tired today. I told him about visiting Ona and Randall, and he asked me if it had been a little car or a big one. I guess he thought Randall had been hurt in a car wreck. Dad ate great. Mom did, too. Mom is just about the same. I laughed though because I'm determined to 'talk' to Mom, too. I told her about seeing Judy and Ona and about Jamie moving today. She got really agitated. She even tried to reach down and bite my arm on the wheelchair. Hey, I like it. Wake up inside that body! LOL! I also took the clothes Judy had bought---three pairs of pants and three tops----plus the one top I'd bought and put them in Mom's closet. I threw out all the stuff that was stained badly + a bag I'd bagged before of stained clothes. I gave one shirt back to one of the aides because it was low and snapped----not good when you wear no bra! Anyway, I've got a couple of more things I'm going to toss when I carry more clothes down there to her. I just don't know how fast the turn around time on clothing is and didn't want Mom with nothing in her closet! LOL! I'm going to do the same to Dad's closet next visit. I also took Dad some tobacco, too, so he's in good shape on that. It is pouring down here right now---lightning, thunder and rain! We really need it, I guess! LOL! Jamie, did they get all your stuff loaded up and out on the road east!?! How exciting, scary and sad all at the same time! New adventure around the corner---as in today! LOL! Ok, I'm going to get off here and do something?! Not sure what, but something! LOL! Jeremy is on his way to the doc. He sounds horrible, and the school nurse told him to go get a z-pack for his sinuses! I'll be so glad for him to be well. It seems like he's been sick for weeks! The girls seem better! Yea for that!! Love you all, Jeanie

Ditto to Judy's description of our visit with Ona! It was AMAZING and SO easy to get to! Where her room is is right across the street and no big deal at all to get there or stay there! I'm with Judy in that if any/all of you/we can get there we should! She was awesome and SO happy to see us! I told Judy that I wish we were close enough to drive down once a week. It was actually so natural/easy feeling it was like we really were there a lot. No big deal, no problems and no trouble talking/being together. It was great. I really think that it will have to be a road trip to see her/them at least once a year. I really don't want her to lose touch with us again. She is one strong woman just like the rest of us---we all got it--BIG TIME! LOL! Anyway, Randall looks great---no really outward physical signs of the trama other than the wound where they'd put in the shunt---hair grows and will cover that soon enough. Otherwise he has a GREAT tan and looks good. I had to laugh because he'd make the correct facial response to some of the things we'd say. They'll be fine---it's a time thing!

Jamie, I'm SOOOOOO glad you're near the end of the packing/moving/sorting thing! Bless your heart! WHAT a LOT of stress that has had to be!!!! Jason is a good kid and kids know when their parents are REALLY trying hard to do the right thing! Hey, it sounds like you've got the prom thing covered in a wonderful way to make it so special for he and his date! I can't believe how soon you'll both be on your way to KY! WHOO-HOOOO!!!!!!

Judy, you're sweet about the dress and shoes! LOL! Bruce liked them. Makenzie told me the dress was dull! LOL! She's a mess! LOL! Ryan just called me and told me Dylan was on the all A's honor roll and got the spelling award for grades 1-6! LOL! She's so cute. Ok, love you all, Jeanie
Jeanie and I had a GREAT time visiting with Ona and Randall and I was truly amazed at the progress he's made. He still has a way to go but therapy at Baylor is awesome! He has the opportunity for literally everything to help him progress. He counted to 10, raised his arms above his head on command, eats amazingly well, and generally looks just like always. He doesn't have that "stare that isn't really seeing" look at all! He kept looking at Ona and patting her though and it was so sweet. Ona has been nothing short of amazing through this ordeal. I worry about her not taking care of herself but she seems to be thriving and withstanding really well. She was SO happy to see us and just hugged us and cried. It was really touching for all of us! We spent the night across the street in her room (it has a bathroom, 2 twin beds, a recliner and a tv which was more than we needed!) because she spends her nights in the room with Randall sleeping in a chair that pulls out to a bed. It was like the one in Mom's room and a hair short of being useless!lol His doctor came in yesterday morning and she was adorable!!! She is exactly what Ona needs to help her stay grounded. Ona was worried to death about Randall yesterday morning to the point of total nervousness because he had an issue with some diarrhea and she was scared. When the doctor came in she told her that it was fine and nothing at ALL to worry about! She also told her that they had gotten his blood work back and it was PERFECT!!! Ona just cried. You could tell she was so worried and so relieved to know he's ok physically. Jeanie and I both kept saying how glad we were we went and how we have got to make a point of driving to Canadian at least once a year to visit with them because I'm not sure when/how/if she'll be able to get Randall all together and drive to us. I just don't see it for any time in any distant future but I could be wrong. Ona called last night to make sure we made it home and to thank us for coming. She said Randall had done awesome in therapy yesterday. I'd like to encourage any or all of you that can go to Dallas to see her/him while they are there to do it because you could tell she loved having the company and diversion. It was AWESOME going and an awesome place for him. He's going to be ok and that's the main thing! They will get through it together and she knows she will/can do anything he needs done. She got up him from bed to chair yesterday for the first time by themselves and she was so proud of herself as she should be!!! Oh and Pam she cried when she got the note/card from Jim yesterday and had us read it and it was precious! He's a great guy! Jeanie and I didn't get home till about 6 last night and she decided to spend the night. She still had nothing to wear to the upcoming wedding either and we went out to shop. She did find shoes and a dress that are so cute! Espadrille (sp??) shoes that are black with white dots(heels but not too tall) and a black dress that is sleeveless with a little fullness in the skirt but not too much. It fit her so good across the shoulders and chest area too! She'll have a corsage on the dress which will give it a little color and she's going to find a purse with color too. She found a couple of purses but wanted to check at home to see if she didn't have one first because she wants one that is maybe straw with color. The one she carried around for a while in the buggy was straw with big balls of bright colors almost like flowers on it. You'll be adorable Jeanie!! She left this morning heading home and plans on seeing Mom/Dad today. I'm going up soon but not sure when. Katilyn's birthday is coming up this weekend and I don't want to miss that and I work Friday. I'll post after I go!lol Love to all, Judy

Tuesday, May 17, 2011

Jeanie and Judy let us know how things go with Ona...how long will you be gone? So glad you're going!! Tomorrow is day 1 of the movers!! I'm excited, nervous and anxious all in one! I keep trying to get all wound up and run to the edge, but then I calm myself down! I've got 3 friends and Jason to help tomorrow and probably 2 friends for Thursday and then back to 3 friends on Friday. I'll just be glad when it's over and I can just exhale. Jason already has fun plans for Friday...I'm glad..he gets stressed like his Mom, but keeps it inside like his Dad...I told him we have to help each other!! Then Saturday is his Prom. I've rented him a fancy sports car..I think it's going to be a Mustang for Saturday night! A thank you for being such an all-round great kid and pretty patient with all the crap that's been going on in his Senior year of High School!! He's got reservations at a great restaurant and I know they'll have a super time...I'll post picture!! Ok, back to getting things done...I love you, Jamie

Patsy, I'm glad Molli is better! Bless her heart! Jamie, glad you're better! Bless your heart, too! LOL! That packing and sorting is a lot of fun! NOT! Pam, I'm guessing Casey is about to graduate from boot camp, right? Good job! Judith Ann, I'll see you in the morning! I went to see Mom and Dad today. They were ok. Mom doesn't communicate really, but I talked to her anyway. I took Dad the paper and am determined to carry on a conversation with him about things going on. I told him Judy and I were going to go see Ona in the morning. He was quiet for a few seconds, and then he said he hoped Randall was doing alright---or something to that effect. I can't remember the exact words now, but he knew that Randall was not right. Good! Ok, I'm off to bed. 6:00 will come early! Yikes! Love you all, Jeanie
Texted back and forth with Ona this morning and they had a GREAT weekend she said with Howie and family. Randall got the cath out and he gets the feeding tube out this afternoon! His wound on his butt is all healed now and that's why they could take out the cath. She told me that she was couldn't wait to see us and that they didn't need anything because they had gone to Target and restocked yesterday. I wanted to take her some entertain or snacks but guess she's all set in that department. That would probably be the first thing I did if I was her! I took snacks and puzzles with me to Dean's room when he was there. I ate non stop!lol Nerves do that to me!lol Love to all, Judy

Sunday, May 15, 2011

Awwww Pat that's sweet that you say hi to Dean when you find a dime! I love it!! He would love it! I'm glad Mom was a little more awake for you at least cause she's been pretty much totally sleeping the last few times I was there except for that scrunch of the shoulders and grin along with the I love you too. I wish she were like she was when in the hospital recently! I have my doubts we'll ever get that close again to having her awake. Jamie you have done amazing things since you decided to move to Kentucky and buy a house! I'm totally impressed!!! I'm still trying to finish the cross stitch I started years ago to give to Brittney that I finally have picked back up. I'm determined to get that sucker finished and framed so I can throw the cross stitch book in the garbage! I'll never undertake anything like that again! Stick a fork in me cause I'm done!! Love to all, Judy
We went to LNC today. They were in the cafeteria when we got there. I fed Mother part of her food and one of the girls fed her the rest. Daddy seemed confused, but he knew Jerry and I both. When we got ready to leave I told him bye and "love you" and he said, "You're not coming back anymore?" and I said, "Yes, I'm definitely coming back." and he said "OK". Sad for sure! They were about like normal. Mother was a little more awake than usual, but still not very alert. I just keep telling myself that it is what it is.
Judy, speaking of dimes. A couple of weeks ago Addison brought me the plunger out of the bathroom and when I went to put it back, there was a dime there! Today when I got my clothes out of the washer there was a dime in there too. I always say, "Hi, Dean" when I find one.
Okay, guess I'll get off of here . Molli's shingles are improving. She goes back to the eye doctor tomorrow and she's hoping she can start wearing her contacts and eye makeup. What a mess! love you, pat
We have raccoons here...I mean big ones...like bears! Last Spring there was a Mother raccoon with 3 babies...cutest thing I've ever seen until she stood up on her back haunches and let out a hiss and growl that made me run the opposite direction screaming like a girl!! They've been coming into the housing area the last few years looking for food...the post is expanding into their habitat so I guess they figure they're invited. Maybe it's the same with the foxes..a lot of Jonesboro and I'm sure Hot Springs and Little Rock that use to be wooded areas on the outskirts of town now have houses...I guess they've found out they can find food pretty easy. A little further out from Fort Lewis, they're having trouble with bears for the same reason...a bear attack, a bear sighting or a bear encounter is on the news here most every night..scary! You know what it is don't you....GLOBAL WARMING!! :) Got several more things done yesterday and this morning already...iron furniture painted, all purses cleaned out, glove box cleaned out, bathroom closets cleaned out, 4 more bags of trash collected, another huge stack of papers shredded, a large tote cleaned out and "keeping" pile nearly completed!! Today, it's put stuff out on curb for bulk pick up tomorrow, laundry, packing/grouping of clothes, pictures down and grouped and fridge cleaned out! Ok, back to work! Love you all, Jamie

Saturday, May 14, 2011

Good job, Judith Ann! I found one 3/4 length sleeve top for Mom today, too. It's a kind of bright royal blue, round neck with some work around the neck area. It's pretty. Mine was $1--hey, at this rate they can just throw everything out every couple of weeks and we'll start over. I do NOT like her looking like an orphan! As for the foxes, we have the one here. I've seen it and Bruce has seen it! The other day when he was working in the yard, it walked right alongside the area over by the fence---Bruce standing there. He went to Annie's grave, sniffed around and then walked off. He did the same thing when I saw him! Pretty cool!!!!!!! We've been to Chris's cabin today and in general running around and doing nothing. I'm cooking breakfast for the whole fam in the morning! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie
Just wanted to go ahead and post a note that I know Pam went to see Mom and Dad today. She said that they were both ok. Dad is always glad to see one of us and he hates us to leave which bothers Pam like it does us all. Mom had on "hawaiian pants" so again they weren't hers. I did go to sales today and bought her some really pretty things for cheap. I got a red long sleeve kinda fleece top, a long sleeve pale blue sweatshirt weight top, a new pair of khaki pull on pants with elastic that had been $44! Everything was a dollar! I bought her a sweatshirt like blue top with matching pants for 50 cents!lol I also got a black pair of pull on pants that are a little lighter weight than sweatpants and look a lot like those she use to have. It's a start for sure. I asked Pam about wondering if Maude Shelton had gotten Mom's clothes. Maybe Pat you could check tomorrow when you go to have them check that? Pam said that Dad had a skin tear under his watch but Nikki thought it would be ok. I'm sure Pam will post her own but wanted everyone to kow asap that they were ok. I saw the weirdest thing today too! I was at a sale in a heavily populated area and out from the drainage pipe under the driveway was 2 foxes!~ One was obviously the mother and had something in it's mouth like a mouse or something. It crossed right in front of my car and then the other that was smaller-like a teenage fox!lol-went back in the drain but as I turned around to drive back that direction, it came out too and ran across the yard! At another sale in a completely different area, a lady said that they had a fox that goes up and down their street later in the evening! What's up with that??? Weird! Love to all, Judy

Friday, May 13, 2011

Ok, good, it's back! I haven't been able to get on here either. I noticed on their 'details' that posts from Wed until they were back today would be lost. Hence the missing posts. Bruce and I did go see Mom and Dad yesterday---Thurs. Bruce was showing Dad the pics in the paper about the flooding and Dad was amazed. He really needs someone to talk to him. I noticed they had a Mardi Gras party Tues of this week---go figure. Anyway it was at 3:00! How many residents do you think were up and going at 3:00? My guess: ZERO! That's the way with most of the activities. They're scheduled for around 2:00, but they start putting the residents down for a nap around 1:00! Make any sense to you!?! Anyway, they were ok. Mom looked like an orphan. I asked about her clothes and they said yes she needs some. Well, the ones she was wearing did NOT come from any of us---trust me! We put their names in them, but that doesn't help any! The girls told me the new tops we'd gotten Mom at Christmas went to laundry and never came back. SOOOOO, here's my suggestion. When you are out at a yard sale, etc, look for Mom some long-sleeved t's/tops and pants---size med. There is no use in going to the store and buying new ones---their fate will be like the Christmas ones. This way we can just keep a fresh supply going for her/them. On another note, I got ANOTHER letter from DHS! DO NOT get me started! Anyway, they (she) wants MORE info on Mom's account. I'm telling you this as a foreshadowing thing----I will bet that she's going to try to find a way to suspend Mom for a month(s) if at all possible. It has to do with the Miller's Trust---which Mom doesn't need. All checks are to be approved before written even though they are paying anything---did I do this---no. I am just so frustrated with the whole thing. Today I called Beth and am going there on Mon to take this info DHS wants. We'll see. I'm to the point that come June 23rd, I'm going to tell them exactly what I feel. I mean, I have jumped through their hoops for about 7 or 8 months and it STILL is not enough! One of the things she wanted today was a 'second request for the interest on Mom and Dad's joint bank account'! I took a letter from the bank showing $0.00 interest and a note saying this was NOT an interest bearing account about 2 weeks ago. I'll be d... if she didn't say she STILL needs the amount of interest on this account today in the letter!!!!!!!! I don't think it will EVER be enough info for her to say pay! Just me! Ok, Jeremy's on the way with the girls. I'll check back later. Love you all, Jeanie Jon's address is 1116 Penny Lane, Jonesboro, AR 72404 It would work for me if Molli would gut the whole thing! LOL!
Jamie I'm so glad you're skin thingy was benign--always a good thing! I just finished my volunteer shift at the hospital, got my hair cut and now I'm in until Leisa calls me that supper is ready!~(She's cooking tonight instead of Sunday since Katilyn has to come back to ASU tomorrow for a mandatory meeting) These Friday the 13ths are killers! I met Dean on Friday the 13th and broke my back on Friday the 13th so it's a draw for me!!!lol Stay safe! I found 2 dimes one day this week and one was at the church! Leisa found a couple too and we're a little rattled! That's a lot of heavenly dimes going on!lol Maybe one is for Brittney to find a house! Frank chewed out the manager of housing yesterday because of the most crappy house he's EVER seen was the only thing they offered them! There are lots of houses available it would seem when you drive around post but since the Army doesn't "own" the houses anymore, the subcontractors don't seem to care! Might be a long year for them!~ I was going to drive up on Sunday to see Mom and Dad and then drive home on Monday, drive to Dallas on Tuesday and home from Dallas on Wednesday but decided NOT to push my luck with being on the road 4 days in a row! I'll come up the week after this coming one. We will post on Randall/Ona on Tuesday. Love to all, Judy
This is the first time I've been able to get on here in like a day...same for you guys too? The newest post on mine is from Wednesday morning, but I'm sure I checked it Wednesday night and there were other posts on here. Anyway, I'm connected again!! Went to the Derm yesterday afternoon and my test results were negative for a basal cell...good news...it was just a skin thing that had all the "looks" of something bad. Still gearing up for movers on Wednesday. I've cleaned out/organized my jewelry, begun making a pile of what goes to the hotel, cleaned out 2 buffets and my antique suitcases! No matter how much I clean and organize, I still just don't feel ready! Guess come Wednesday I better be!! Ok, back to work...just wanted to see if I could get on the site today. Love you, Jamie

Shingles...Scurvy both antique sounding illnesses that I obviously haven't had much exposure to!!:) Either way, I hope Molli gets better soon! Jeanie, glad Jeremy's family is at least heading down the road of recovery..sounds like Maggie is still germy, but hopefully she'll be fully recovered soon. I have to say I hope that Skyler gets that catfish thing out of his leg soon...can he get catscratch fever from that? KIDDING!! I do know how you get that disease!!:) Judy glad you're talking with Ona..hopefully it lets her know we're all thinking about her even though we haven't been there physically. Jeanie, do you need to send me a check to sign and make out to you? If so, put that thing in the mail quick..my mail will stop coming to me at the 2361 s 5th street address as of the 21st of May...after that it'll go to Bridlewood. So Jon and Mollie will live in Jon's house in Jonesboro? That's probably driving a much deserved knife in Nancy's back huh?!! What's Jon's mailing address? I'll probably just send a gift card for Lowe's...this way she can paint or do some changes to put her own stamp on things!! Ok, hitting the showers..I have my follow up today at Dermatology...anxious to find out the results of things and maybe get a little more botox on a couple of stubborn wrinkles!! Love you all, Jamie

I too laughed at you Jamie about the shingles because I was thinking "isn't that scurvy??"lol I see Jeanie wrote it down, so I must have been right! Hey I remember all the useless crap and nothing of importance!lol As for Skyler, he got "finned" by a catfish when they went fishing on Jack's boat while here and it hasn't healed. They took him to the doctor and hence the note I wrote. The doctor thinks that perhaps a catfish spine (which are on those long whisker things) may have gotten in his leg when he was stabbed by it. We'll see--they do the ultrasound this coming Tuesday. They couldn't do it sooner since Frank is still inprocessing at the base and they're not supposedly suppose to schedule things during that time. Weird if you ask me, but whatever!lol Oh I texted Ona today and she said Randall had a really good day and the doctor said she could tell that the procedure he had DID make a difference. Ona said he was much improved in therapy today! Yeahhhhhh!! Ok, love to all, Judy
Jamie, you are too funny! I believe that is scurvy that sailors got! hee hee! I'm like you, I thought okay I must have missed the post about Skyler ! Okay, Jamie, rest your brain - love you! pat
Poor Molli! That's horrible. Shingles are suppose to be really painful! Yuck! They're kin to chicken pox aren't they? Bless her heart and I hope she's much better soon!!! Brittney texted me today that they still don't have a house and are living in the hotel while they try to search around for an apartment in case their 90 days are up and still no house! Skyler starts kindergarden (is this right or is it kindergarten? I have NEVER known for sure!!!Lol) in August and they'd like to be settled. He has the ultrasound on his leg Tuesday to see if the catfish spine thing left something in his leg. He still limps around like it's killing him and the doctor said he definitely has some fluid in the pocket. We'll see. Logan on the other hand is totally potty trained! She said that was a miracle too consider them not having a home!lol He was doing good about it about 50% of the time when he was here and would go if you'd ask him but didn't volunteer!lol I've been texting Ona some every other day or so to make sure she's holding up and she is. I'm anxious to get there and at least make sure she knows we're all thinking about them. I hate that they have been so far away! So glad Molli showed up to visit so soon after they arrived and now we will go this coming Tuesday. Pat and Pam maybe you 2 could ride Molli and Marty home and go to visit! Molli had mentioned it to me about them flying in and riding back with Jeanie and I but Jeanie can't go around the holiday because she'll have Dylan and Pepper. I too got my invitation and since they aren't having a shower, are they registering somewhere? Okay, off to my trying to play catch up with my DVR! Love to all, Judy
Well, everyone is still busy, busy - including me. Jeanie, I got Jon's wedding invitation - I'm SO happy for them! Are they having a shower of any kind? Sorry about Jeremy and the kids. It's hard when you have sick babies!
Well, Molli now has shingles! Poor kid, she can't catch a break lately. She had to go to an eye doctor to make sure they weren't in her eyes because one of her eyes was red and swollen, but the Dr. said her eyes were okay. She's having to put drops in 4 times a day and she's on an anti-viral medicine and an antibiotic. Lord, what a mess! They're supposed to be coming here Memorial Day week and I'll be so glad to get to see her.
Jeanie, glad you're in charge of the financial business! Big job, but we are all thankful for you! Okay, I've got to get off here and go back to work in a little while. love you, pat
Just a quick post after reading the blog....Glad Jeremy is feeling better and back to work, but sorry to hear the girls are still sick..YUCK! Not much going on here...still just working toward the packers coming in 1 week! Scary and exciting! Talked with Jerry yesterday and they've finished the upstairs..looks great he said...now on to trying to finalize plans for the porch/patio. The bathroom will be project number 4 probably...I think the fence will come after the porch. I'll be glad to get there and get my hands on things! Jason and I Skyped with Jerome yesterday and he was showing me some things in the house...hard to be here when the control freak in me wants to be there! This has definitely been a test of my patience!! So glad Daddy was doing good...I can't wait to see them again soon...seems like it'll never get here, but again, trying to have patience! Jeanie do we owe you for the bill you paid to LNC? Still no decision on the Medicare thing right? Judy's right, we absolutely owe you big time!! Ok, I'm off to shower and then clean out my recycle bucket...yesterday was the last pick up for me before I move out!! Judy hope your numbers were hot at Bingo!! Love you all, Jamie

Totally impressed Ms receipt keeper!lol I'm sure you didn't get one on that date or you would certainly have had it in your pile of papers!lol I'm a little confused on reading this though because if they HAD posted the check for $5,000 wouldn't that have made his records match yours without having a difference? He posted it but didn't? weird! Either way it's a "what ever' for me!lol I'm so thankful you have persisted in keeping all this stuff straight and we once again owe you BIG time! I'm read to move forward, medicaid is paying and we're done worrying about it! I like it a LOT! So glad Jeremy is better at least and they have maybe a handle on Maggie now! Geez, NOT fun!!!lol Love to all, Judy
Ok, several things! #1: I am going to pay Dad's LNC bill through May on Thurs! YEA! He owes $5473.07----this will get him totally caught up! THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Not only that, but there'll be enough left over to pay for the rest of his June! DOUBLE AWESOME! I went down to see Mom and Dad today and to get with Michael Smith. He had missed a check for $5000 that I had paid on Dad's account. I had it down on my list for 3/23/11, but I didn't have a receipt. That was weird because I'm the receipt queen. I know that one day when I paid the girl was not in the office. Tracy (a girl that works there) had told me to leave it on Linda's desk. I knew that I'd have the check an left it. Anyway, when I got home and called, I gave him the check # and the date it cleared. He had copies of every check I'd paid them with in a file---every check but that one! Well, 5 minutes later he called and had found it! Said it had been posted in two parts----not as one $5000 payment. That's fine, but I don't know why he didn't have a copy of the check! That was weird. Anyway, bottom line he had it and our figures matched. So check one box! I like it! Mom and Dad were about the same. I took the newspaper down and Dad really looked at it. I was impressed. He ate every bite of his lunch, too. I fed Mom all of hers except for a little bit. I couldn't tell what the meat part was. They told me that Dad had reached in the warmer and gotten himself a piece of chicken---ate it, too, without any trouble. I told them that the fish wasn't ground the other day and he did fine. He also had NO teeth in. A new guy said that he ate REALLY well with no teeth but no as well with his teeth! HUH!?!
#2: Jeremy went back to work today. He looked much better today! Thank goodness! Fara took Maggie to a doctor at Children's Clinic today---a Dr Sneed. Anyway, she still has strep, not mono and he drew more blood. Jeremy said Macie was still hurting. Tomorrow I'm going to keep Macie---she was adorable on Mon. Ok, I'm working on my house because the Horn's are coming on Fri. I need to work on my yard thurs. Ok, Love you all, Jeanie

Monday, May 9, 2011

Doctors can definitely be horrible people! Maybe they are partial the reason that Macie has been so sick and now Maggie. They sound like major quacks to me! I'm SO glad she's taking them somewhere else. Hey that clinic was good enough for our kids when they were growing up and should be good still today! I hope that part of the Moore family gets well quick! I'm going to try to come up Sunday and see Mom and Dad Monday but NOT if there is illness around J'boro! I've been lucky as far as that kind of stuff goes for a while now and would love to keep it that way!~lol Okay, off to bed. Will check in tomorrow Jeanie after you post how Mom and Dad are. Bingo is tomorrow during the day and again at night! yeaaaaaaa!~ Love to all, Judy
It always amazes me that one post will appear before another one on here! Judy said that my post was NOT on here before she posted hers, yet mine is before hers on this blog! How weird! Anyway, an update on Maggie, Macie and Jeremy. Jeremy got up out of bed for the first time today since Fri!! He looked like he'd been run over. I'm hoping he's NOT going to school tomorrow either. His head is some better, but he's still hoarse. Macie was adorable today. Where her throat is sore, she kept her lips pursed and closed!!!!!! She was NOT going to have anything put in her mouth! She wouldn't even laugh! LOL! I finally got her to eat and drink. She's walking some----a few steps here and there. Crazy! Fara took Maggie to the doc today and got into it with him. He was a total jerk saying it was silly, ridiculous, etc that she'd taken Maggie to the ER. He said there's nothing wrong with her, she doesn't have strep or mono (he could tell by looking) and that NO ONE gets meningitis anymore!!!!!!!!!! He didn't even LOOK at Maggie. Fara let him have it! Told him he was pompous and could he at least look at her child! He ended the visit by telling Maggie he was sorry little girl they used you for a pin cushion at the hospital Fri night! It was crazy! He told Fara he'd had a bad day today! What an A.....!!!!!!!!!! Anyway she knows know more than she did before she went! She's going to take her to children's clinic to have them check her. We have all been SO worried about her! Ok, I'm fixing to go to bed. I'm going down to see Mom and Dad tomorrow. I had Macie all day today and will have her again Wed. Love you all, Jeanie
So glad everyone had a great Mother's Day...as I laughed with Jason..1 day a year for Mom, 364 days for the kids! My Jason gave me a sweet card to go along with the flowers from Jerome and Jerry and he did go shopping with me..I was surprised, but he reminded me of the 1 day for Mom! We went to lunch...wanted Olive Garden, but the line was out the door and around the building..so we opted for Applebees!! Just nice to spend time together and talk about life and future...listening to Jason yesterday made me realize he's not a boy anymore...when did that happen?! We are so blessed with a great Mom and what a legacy she and Dad have in us and things we are passing/have passed on to our children! Life is good!! Ok, shower time and list clearing day!! Jeanie, keep us posted on Jeremy and the kids...strep is a nasty thing for sure! Love you all, Jamie

I'm hoping everyone had a great Mother's Day--I know I did!! I went to church this morning and the youth of the church sold roses last Sunday to put on the altar in memory or honor of a mother and I had one put there for Mother, Leisa and Brittney. It was beautiful at church then today because lots and lots of people put roses up there and they had vases full! Then Leisa took me and the kids to Olive Garden to eat. Laura came over and brought me a plant and a plate of homemade cookies and a card. Leisa and the kids gave me a card and a Pandora charm for my bracelet. Brittney and the boys gave me a charm for my bracelet too but it's currently on the UPS truck!lol Should be here tomorrow. Then Leisa made chocolate fondue with cake and strawberries that we dipped and called supper!~lol I told her that it was the best meal she had cooked in a long time!lol Not really because she loves to cook and she's really good at it. Pat you're right in we had an awesome role model for being a mother and when Katilyn gave Leisa her card with a sweet note in it, I told her that her Mother had taught her well, just as I had taught her and my mother taught me. It's a cycle for sure and I know we have all raised great daughters and those of you who have sons, probably them too. I have no experience with sons so can't speak from a knowledge of them!lol I hate that Mom can't see the fruits of her labors in all of us but I do know she would be proud of the people we are. We are all so blessed to have them and each other. I try every day to say a prayer of thanfulness for that. Love to all, Judy
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!!!!!!!!!!! Patsy is right: we all turned out to be pretty dern good mothers! Must HAVE had a great role model for that because we sure didn't have an instruction booklet to use! LOL! I know Mom is not good: it made me sad when I bought the flowers thinking about all the times when we were younger and how much we loved to do things for Mother's Day. Bless her heart for sure. She definitely influenced all of us in so many good ways: is that a legacy or what! Thank you so much, Mom! As for me, it's been a good Mother's Day. For Fara: stressful! Their little family needs so many prayers right now. They have had one week! Jeremy has strep throat with a monster headache he can't shake + Macie is still having a hard time swallowing with her throat being sore + Maggie has something going on they're not sure about. She started screaming Fri night about her neck. They went to the ER and they drew blood and did all kinds of tests. The only thing they found is that she still had strep! They changed her antibiotic and she's going back to the doc tomorrow. They were concerned because the lymph nodes in the front AND back of her neck were enlarged. Not good. They tested for mono, but it was neg. Still a possibility that that's what it is. I'm hoping for a better answer than 'not sure' tomorrow. Anyway, they've had a hard time this week and are such a sweet little family. Ryan and Bryan and fam are good--Dylan is still taking her med for strep throat. Do we have a common thread running through this? Good grief. Jon came by tonight and I went to Chris's! They were all really sweet to me. Bruce bought me tickets to the races yesterday at the KY Derby. LOL! Not good results, but we had a good time! Ok, Sisters, I love you all and am so proud of each and every one of you. Mom and Dad did good! Hopefully, that will be my legacy, too. Love you all, Jeanie
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!! We all turned out to be awesome mothers which means we must have had an awesome role model! I cooked a turkey breast yesterday, so I had the idea that I would make turkey and dressing today. What was I thinking? I will have Addison at 2:00 so I will have a busy afternoon. She wants to live outside which means I have to follow her everywhere she goes! So precious, though!
I did go see Mother and Daddy. They were both sound asleep in their wheelchairs. I got Daddy to wake up a couple of times, but he'd go right back to sleep. I rubbed his back so that probably didn't help him to stay awake. Mother was Mother - pitiful. I patted her and she said "quit"! She never really opened her eyes. It's just so sad to see her that way. Nikkie said they had been fine. Daddy had a hospital bracelet on and I asked Nikkie about it and she said that was identification in case they had to evacuate for flooding. Hopefully, that won't have to happen now. I can't even imagine trying to get all those people moved! Okay, I'm off to finish my dressing and babysit. Love you all! pat
Happy Mother's Day!! Don't know about you, but I'll probably be doing laundry, cleaning and possibly cooking...yup...Mother's Day alright!! :) I did get a text from Jerome at 7am this morning...that was a nice surprise and I'm hoping whenever Jason gets up, he'll want to do something together...I'd like to go shopping, but I doubt if I can talk him into that!! Hope you have a great day!!! I love you, Jamie

Saturday, May 7, 2011

Productive day today!! Got up early and went to Walmart...gave away a bunch of stuff from my garage and yard to a soldier that use to be at Madigan, cleaned out more food from the fridge by making chicken wings, got the oil changed, new air filter and Jason cleaned out unwanted games and 2 boxes from the basement!! My husband and Jerome sent me pretty flowers for Mother's Day...wish they were on my table in Kentucky, but that's for next year!! Not sure what Jason has planned for us for tomorrow, but I'm thinking lunch and maybe a movie...just time together without texting on the phone is the best gift!! Hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow!! Not much else going on on this end...this week will be busy, follow up Derm appointment, lunch with some of my wives, pick up a chair I had repaired, work on a few more things for moving..but not much left there! Judy, glad you've talked with Ona! I'm hoping this is the beginning to going home for them! Wow, can't even really grasp what she/they've been through! Glad you're going to see her too! Ok, I may try to walk since it's cleared a little. Love you all, Jamie
I see I wrote the last note but whatever! I'm just reporting that I have talked to Ona a couple of times and Randall is doing fine. He ate all his breakfast today and has been right on schedule. Denita and family are there with her/him now. Hope all is well with everyone! Let's get some notes! Love, Judy

Thursday, May 5, 2011

I did call and talk to Ona and she's holding on! She just wants tomorrow over. Some friends will be with her tonight and tomorrow morning and then Denita will be there tomorrow afternoon and I suppose stay till Sunday. He will stay in the hospital Fri, Sat and Sun night and then back to Rehab. The doctor told Ona than anything that would happen could be fixed and not to worry about it. She said that she just hopes it makes a difference in his talking. She said sometimes he talks to you and sometimes not. I hate it for her! She did say that someone in Canadian would take out their tub and put in a shower and put up rails and perhaps a ramp. They will have it ready and it will be ok. She's a real trooper!! She was so appreciative of Molli and Marty visiting and she was saying how sweet they were. I told her that Jeanie and I are planning on driving down on Tuesday May 17--my wedding anniversary when Dean and I would have been married 31 years!!!-and she told us to stay in her room across the street because she stays with Randall. I just don't see how she's done it all these months but you do what you have to for sure. She's going to text me tomorrow after the surgery is over and when I get home from volunteering at noon, I'll post a note. Extra prayers tonight! Love to all, Judy
You know just reading your note about Dad wondering when Mom was going to be well enough so they could go home, makes me cry! I hate it so bad for Dad and try to tell myself that he doesn't know/understand where he is but sometimes it seems he does and that kills me!!! I'd much rather think he doesn't know. He has to know that Mom can't go home but then I wonder what will he say/do when/if something happened to her! Would he say, I want to go home now??? Oh Lordy, I can't think about this today! Jeanie I'm so sorry you hurt yourself! When did it start hurting? Had you done something different? Maybe it's shin splits or something like that--not that I have a clue what they are but they're suppose to be really painful to the point of not being able to walk. You're going to have to go see about it! My ghostpains are much better--still there but not stabbing at least. Leisa/Dr. Rowe upped my Neurotin during/around the time they are bothering me and now I feel a little more loopy than normal but hey, I'm pain free and that's awesome!!!lol Pam I'm so glad the colonoscopy is over and you're normal~! PTL for that! Everyone remember Randall tomorrow when he has his surgery and post if anyone hears anything. In fact, I may call Ona now and see how she's holding up. If I get through to her, I'll post. Love to all, Judy
Ok, Bruce and I went to see Mom and Dad today. They were both in bed and I thought both were asleep. Mom definitely was, but Dad stirred. He was really glad to see us, and said, Bruce what's going on with you (or something to that effect). He was talking about asking the doctor when she (Mom) was going to be able to leave and go home. I told him Mom couldn't go home. I asked him about reading the paper and he said he did. Anyway, he was sweet and told us to be careful when we left. I was glad to have gone today. Mom's flowers don't look like nearly 30 bucks worth! I got them at Kroger's, then had to buy a vase, then buy the balloon (a heart that said Happy Mother's Day) and then she charged me $5 to put it together! Good grief! Anyway, they looked cheerful and we told Dad to tell Mom they were from all of us girls. He said he would. Anyway, I asked Michael Smith about what we owed to get Dad even on his bills. He wasn't there, but the girl working the desk wasn't sure of the amount. She had a paper with $17,???.?? circled----I said NO WAY! Then she had a paper with $88??.?? circled---that doesn't match mine either. I told her I'd be back Mon to go over the bills with him to come to an amount. It will be nice to get one of them paid up-to-date! Ok, I've hurt my stupid thigh---how? when? no idea, but it is SO painful! It hurts to sit because it hurts to sit on it---if that makes any sense at all! I tried to drive this afternoon and it was way more than I could do. Came back and got Bruce to drive for me! LOL! Not good! Ok, good job today, Pamela! Glad it all went well! Love you all, Jeanie Oh, now Jeremy AND Dylan have Strep throat! Good grief! Macie and Maggie are both doing better!

Wednesday, May 4, 2011

Gosh they aren't in any hurry for the hearing are they? I thought it would be much quicker--DUH what was I thinkin???? I'm just ready to move on~! I'm sure I'm 1 of 6!!lol Jamie, hope you're feeling better! Love to all, Judy
Mom's hearing is scheduled for June 23rd. Beth said that she's either going to have to change the time or the date----Chad has pretrial stuff the 23rd and 24th of June. That's when the appeal hearing is scheduled. I don't expect an answer that day as to a ruling---maybe---I hope so. It will not be until at least then that I'll have a pretty good idea of each of our 'bills' as far as Mom goes. IF Michael Smith and I can come to an agreement on Dad's, I will pay his current. His will then just be an ongoing bill each month until Aug 20. Slowly but surely it's all coming to a conclusion, and we'll be able to see the end of this part of it all! Anyway, I'm waiting on Bruce to get home from poker. Thursday's are REALLY long days for him. Love you all, Jeanie
It would be awesome if we could do/buy something for Mom for Mother's Day but we all know she wouldn't even be able to look at it and know what it was unless she is a lot better than she was a couple weeks ago when I was there. It's just sad but that's the way it is. If we want to go together and get her some flowers to decorate their room for US, then sure, I'm in. Just let me know what I owe. Speaking of owing, when will we all know how much we are going to owe for them to be caught up, or is it too early to tell at this moment. You'll give us all a bill to pay when we know? I assume that's the way it will go down. Jamie, I'm so sorry about your skin problems. I had a basal cell removed from my eyebrow years ago and it's never been back as far as I know!lol Hopefully your's won't even be one! Love to all, Judy
Bless your heart, Jamie! That skin stuff can be anything BUT fun! Yuck! I haven't even thought about Mother's Dad actually. I can go by and get some flowers if you'd like! I'm planning on going down either tomorrow or EARLY Fri! We're suppose to go to the KY Derby this weekend if there isn't going to be rain! Sorry, but I'm up to my eyeballs is rain---ain't driving 7 hours to sit 7 more in it! I've also got a call in for Michael Smith to tell me what Dad owes -- period. I'm going to try to pay his bill up-to-date when I go down. I'll write a check, and Jamie you'll have to write me one back out of the sisters' account. I may just mail you a check for you to do that. Don't know yet. I've worked on their finances all day. Called Pharmacy Solutions about Mom's bill, called AARP to take Mom off and get an amount, called Beth with a handful of questions, wrote checks and made copies of them for DHS, balanced their checkbooks, took papers to Beth to send off, paid Dad's pharmacy bill and Marquis Dental bill---I don't even know what all. IF I can reach an agreement with LNC, then I'll pay that and Dad will at least be caught up to the end of May! Well, unless he gets another pharmacy bill, that is! BUT, at least we'll know where we stand with Dad. He's under penalty until Aug 20, 2011. Ok, I'm fixing to eat a bite and then try to work on my quilt. I need a method to the madness, but haven't hit upon it just yet! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie
Jeanie, glad Macie did good..I know that was so scary for everyone!! Are we doing something for Mom for Mother's Day on Sunday? Flowers? Candy? Let me know what I owe if we do! I know she won't know, but still... Anybody doing anything fun for Mother's Day? It's suppose to rain here...SHOCKER...maybe Jason and I will go to the movies..not too exciting!! Ok..I'm not feeling too well..just got in from the Dermatologist and she worked me over..biopsied a possible basal cell from my chest and burned 3 places off my arms...I'm going to get in pjs and lay down for awhile. Pam, I liked Casey Army pic on Facebook!! Love you all, Jamie
Supposedly she is! The key word is supposedly! I got another bill from the pharmacy saying payment must be made in 10 days or she's off their radar! I haven't gotten confirmation papers from DHS saying they HAD reinstated her for all the months from Oct 31, 10 to present! When THAT happens she SHOULD be! Again, the key word is SHOULD! I've got to figure out her Social Security. I'm sure that since they had said she was not eligible for those months, they started to charge her again. Likewise, when they say she IS eligible, she'll go back to getting the full amount. What a nightmare of paperwork for anything! I've got to start paying LNC something---figuring that out today! Still no idea on the hearing appeal date for IF they'll go back and pick up Aug and Sept---and yes, that will just be to determine exactly how much WE will owe! Be glad to have it settled and just deal with that mess on Dad's for a few more months! Love you all, Jeanie
So is Mom totally Medicaid now regardless of whether they go back or not? The going back only means we'd owe more money, right? This whole thing confuses the dickens out of me and I'm so thankful YOU know what you're talking about Ms. Moore!lol I'll be glad when the whole thing is settled, paid and we've moved on from the money issues with them. Won't THAT be nice? Speaking of nice, it's gorgeous outside! Katilyn is coming to mow my lawn which probably needs it now that the rains have come. She's going to look for a job today too because you can't get rich mowing just my lawn all summer!lol Love to all, Judy

Tuesday, May 3, 2011

I went to see Mom and Dad today. They were ok. They were in the dining room getting ready to eat lunch. It was pretty dry---their food today. Dad ate most of his Mexican chicken and his squash and ice cream. He ate very little of the refried beans---they were REALLY dry. I fed Mom all of her lunch except for a few of the beans. I asked for yogurt because it wasn't on her tray. She ate that, too. She was 'sleeping' during the whole visit. Her eyes today had so much gook in/on them. I washed them off. Debbie and Margaret both said they'd already done that today. Debbie is going to look into her an eyedrop. Anyway, they were ok. I got a letter from Michael Smith saying that they were private pay and we needed to 'talk' about their bill. I got their Social Security checks today and will pay Dad's two bills for pharmacy and marquis dental then give LNC the rest of his for now. Mom---her SS was only $172 this time!!!!!!!!!! Dad's was $332! I guess I'm going to have to call SS and check on this! I'll be glad to know IF DHS will go back to Aug and pay for Mom. Either way, I'm really close to having a figure that I'll need for Mom.
Macie did good today. I've checked on them a couple of times today and she's still doing ok. Tomorrow she should be better still, I hope! One surgery down and Randall's to go! There was a 20 year old girl having her tonsils out today, too. Her Mom came back over to tell us that the girl's tonsils were the size of golf balls! Is that nuts!! She wasn't having trouble with her tonsils---just with swallowing! No doubt! Ok, we're really tired tonight and are fixing to hit it even though it's early!!!!!!!!!! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie
Hey, if ya'll go to Dallas, Molli would love for you to come see her house. I can't possibly go until school gets out, but I understand that ya'll want to go on. You're right, Judy, it's not that bad a trip from Hot Springs, but from here it takes about 7 and a half hours. At least, it's all interstate! love you, pat

Monday, May 2, 2011

As for me, I can go to Dallas anytime since I don't have much of a life!lol I'm game with whoever, whenever! I'm like you Jeanie in that I feel horrible not being there for her these past 9 months but yet at the same time when I knew Dean was dying, we just took everyday at a time and even though I didn't see a lot of anyone during that time, I certainly don't feel that any of you weren't there for me. I always, always felt connected to you all and knew you would any/all be there if I needed you. I think Ona probably feels that way too because she knows if she called us and said to come, we would have regardless of what ever else was going on. That's being a sister! I'm sorry about Macie and will say a prayer for all of you tomorrow because that has to be horrible to think about because when Brittney had her tubes in her ears when she was little I was worried to death because of her smallness. Macie will be fine and Maggie too will get over her illness. Luckily for me Logan is doing ok now and Brittney thinks he's past needing to go to the doctor. My ghostpains are gone--hallejuah!! I slept like a rock last night!lol Our weather says sunshine tomorrow and sun oir the rest of the week!!! yeahhhhhhh Love to all, Judy
Is it just me or is there just a lot going on with all of us!?! I just read this yesterday and tonight there are so many new posts! LOL! Macie has her surgery tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6:45. This time she's going to have to have an IV because the surgery is going to be more involved---will last about an hour. Fara was upset today just thinking about it. I will be SO glad when she's had the surgery and is on the mend! She's a sweet sweet little baby girl---real loving and so laid-back. Maggie is doing better---she fell asleep today over here about 9:30. NOT like her! She also didn't have much of an appetite---also not like her! LOL! Hopefully by the end of the week, their family will be on the way to better health! I hope so! We're suppose to be going to the KY Derby this weekend IF it stops the infernal raining! I'm like Dana-- she made the comment that God did promise not to destroy the Earth again with water, right!?! It's been insane here with the raining and raining and raining! Corning, Ar that already had all the roads closed to their town except for one has gotten 11.07 inches MORE in the last 48 hours! That's nuts!!!!!!!!!!! As for going to see Ona and Randall, I think we are way late in being there! I feel so badly that it's been over 9 months and none of us have visited---except for Molli and Marty! I can't go this week and possibly next, BUT the next week I'm thinking is a yes! We'll see. Ok, off to clean my kitchen and to bed early to get up early. Love you all, Jeanie
