Is it just me are some weird things happening with our posts! I swear that I typed the note about not being Jamie and about Jerry's SgtMajor BEFORE Jamie gave the actual facts about it all and then Pat typed and hers disappeared! Weird!! Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY ONA from me too. I actually thought about it Friday and planned on calling you today but do you think I remembered when the actual day is here?? NO goes along with that short term memory lose!LOL Happy Memorial Day tomorrow too to all of you and Jamie be sure and thank Jerry for his service to our country right along with yourself! Frank is still doing good and plans are still on for his return in August! I plan on going to see Mom and Dad on Tuesday and hopefully they'll known I'm even there! They are having a Memorial Day service tomorrow at the VA cemetery and flags are placed at all the graves and the Freedom Riders (motorycylce group) ride in with their huge flags flying. The Governor talked last year but not sure who will have the program tomorrow. Brittney and the boys and I are going and then putting flowers at Dean's grave since his birthday is Tuesday. I just hope Dad isn't going to go through the Potassium stuff again but at least they seem to be on top of it! I like that at least! Good luck with the crawling grandbaby Pat! Just the first of many mobility issues to come!LOL Love to all, Judy
Okay, I typed a long message, but for some reason it didn't post! Crap!! So, to make it short - first of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, ONA!!!!!! I hope you had a great day!!! Jamie, sorry about all the tragedies Jerry's had. I went to see Mom and Dad on Friday and today, but am not going to retype all I wrote earlier. Friday they were better than today. Nikki did tell me that they thought Dad was getting another UTI and would probably be on antibiotics in a couple of days. She checked his sugar while I was there and it was 183 - a little high, but better than too low.
Molli and Marty made it home safely last night from their London/Germany trip. They had an awesome time and even spent one night in a castle! My precious Addison is now 9 months old and started crawling this week - fun times ahead! I took her yesterday to get her picture made and they are adorable! Okay, love you all, pat

Jamie that is HORRIBLE about the SGT Major! YUCK!!!!!! I can't imagine the agony that his family has had to face with the questions that they must ask themselves! I'm telling you, you just don't know what's around any corner! I am so sorry for Jerry and this man's family. It is just too sad to end a life on such a note! As for Mom and Dad and them not really knowing/caring if I'm there, it's ok. I do understand them, really. It makes it hard, but at the same time reinforces the fact that they are in the right place for their best interest at this time! Bruce and I went by to see them today. Both were asleep. Dad with his mouth wide open---Bruce goes---I recognize that look! LOL! He's always telling me I sleep with my mouth open! LOL! Hey, sleep is good regardless of how! LOL! Mom is on quarantine because of the c-diff infection she has. Normally they don't quarantine people with it IF they can contain their feces inside their briefs, but Mom's is SO loose it doesn't do that! Anyway, you can go into her room--she's just not allowed out. Dad hasn't stayed in the room with her all the time. He has a new friend---a former teacher that's a resident at LNC. Nikki called me tonight to say they were goin to run a cbc and a something else test on Dad---probably tomorrow. The second is a metabolic test to check potassium, electrolites, etc. She said he's been a little more antsy and a little more confused than usual. She remembers the last time that this was the beginning symptoms before the MAJOR potassium incident and wants to make sure that this doesn't happen again. GOOD GRIEF! Anyway, Pat went to see them today, too, and Dad was up. Ok, HAPPY NOTES!!!!!!!!!! Macie is adorable, and Maggie LOVES her baby sister! Macie has also been so good. She woke up once last night about 2---of course she was awake until about 3:30, but then went back to sleep for the night! Maggie has slept in her big girl bed the last two nights all night long by herself! LOL! Fara made it downstairs today, too. Anyway, needless to say, Macie is a good eater! LOL! Jamie, I'm thrilled for Jason AND Jerome! YEA! Both things are good. I hope that we can all get together, too, for a 'sisters' weekend at the very least before too much time passes. We'll just have to pick a time and all of us schedule our time around it. Hey, maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle!!!!!! An adventure for us all!!!!!!!!!!! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie

I'm not Jamie by any stretch of the imagination (Good for YOU Jamie!LOL) but she and I did talk on the phone about the SgtMajor and he evidently was about Jerry's age and was given a DUI which is an automatic discharge. He had a really hard time with it and went out to a deserted beach area and they found him dead a couple of days after searching everywhere for him. They called it a strangulation by position or something like that because he fell asleep and the position of his head cut his airsupply off? Do NOT quote me on any of this but at least you'll know a little more than you did! It was so hard on Jerry when he guy had to get out of the service and then this. I think it all happened just about exactly at the time Jamie got home. Jeanie as for you and them not caring whether you're going or coming at the nursing home only goes to the fact that they are neither in their right mind because Dad for SURE knew how important you were/are/have been to them. He told me repeatedly that they couldn't make it without you and that is SO true! Congrats again on Baby Macie. Good and happy events are great! Love to all, Judy
Jeanie can't wait to see more pics of the newest Moore!! I chubby babies!! I hope Fara is doing well!! Jerry's SGT Major has had some real life difficulties over the last 5 months..a drunk driving stop..marriage difficulties..possibly some unknown health issues because he'd dropped 20 pounds over this period and he was a tall thin soldier anyway. He came home early 2 weeks ago on Wednesday, loaded up a backpack with beer and headed out to scout a hunting area on their huge acreage of land. He didn't come home and by Thursday morning his wife was in a panic. Soldiers and the police department looked for him for 2 days when he was finally found late Friday night. He was sitting in a grassy area near the stream in a heavily tree covered area holding a beer...had been dead since Wednesday the coroner said....right now, the official cause of death was he fell asleep, head fell over and he suffocated..the toxicology report will be released in 6 to 8 weeks...don't know if it will give us anymore answers. His wife is strong and doing ok, their 12 year old daughter is struggling. Jerry has had 3 soldiers die in the last 3 weeks..a nurse from cancer, a wounded warrior and Mike. He's so good at all of this though...he knows what to say to the families, he just has a way...Okay enough sad! On a lighter note, my Jason got his driver's license on Monday...Watch out world!! My Jerome has grown a heart and is volunteering with the wounded warriors scuba diving therapy program...okay, there's probably some ulterior motive surrounding this, but at least he's heading in the right direction!! :) We are heading to Seattle this weekend for a cruise around the harbor and a walk along the piers...it's suppose to be almost 70 and sunny on Sunday!!! Saturday, I'm trying to convince Jerry to take a drive to a town here called Shelton..it's on the coast west of Olympia...something tells me I need to go there...the name maybe??? I miss everyone...and hope we can all get together under happy circumstances soon. Love to you all, Jamie
Hey, thank you Judy for being my secretary! I need all the help I can get! Fara and Jeremy DID have their baby this morning---9 lbs, 2 oz! Cute and chubby! As for Mom and Dad, I just don't get good vibes for me. It's like it doesn't really matter if I'm there or not. They don't seem either too glad to see me nor too sad to see me go! Physically they were good yesterday. I bent to give Mom a kiss on the head and her hair smelled so good! What happened to Jerry's sgt major, Jamie!?! I missed that whole thing! That is horrible! Just so sad! Love you all, Jeanie
OMG!!!! Poor Dad!!! I, too wish that Mom would eat. Jamie, what happened to Jerry's SGT? How old are his children? How sad for all of them? I'm like Dad it's getting close to the last day of school:) I'm ready to go to the ranch and work on relaxing and maybe trying to find the perfect stop to take a daily afternoon or morning nap:) Randall's mom is coming out on June 8 to stay until after the Fourth of July with us. Called us last night and asked me to make sure I had some prune juice at the ranch for her:) Thanks to all of you for keeping me posted about Mom and Dad and what's happening in your lives as well. Love, Ona

I called to check on Mom and Dad today and talked to Debbie. She said they were doing fine" so far" and not sure exactly what THAT meant!LOL Jeanie called me later today and said that Debbie mentioned that one of my sisters had called and she would be gone for a week and Dad said "it's probably Jeanie". Jeanie said that she didn't think Mom or Dad either one has known her the last couple of times she's been down there. Mom did eat today because Debbie said she had 75% at Breakfast and Dad had 100% as usual for him. Dad said "Come on Mrs. Shelton" to mother while Jeanie was sitting there too and she asked him where he was going. He said it was the last day of school and they had a long drive ahead of them. Something about Camden too?? Weird! Jeanie has company this week--Ryan and the girls are there for the week and tomorrow is Baby 2 for Jeremy/Fara. I plan on going up and spending the night sometime late this week or early next and will post afterwards. Mom and Dad have both always known me and it will be interesting! I'm so sorry for Jerry and dealing with the death of his SgtMajor. Give him my regards and tell him how sorry I am for all of the family. Love to all, Judy
OMG!! I feel the same as Judy, miss logging on for a day or two and get hit with Dad taking a trip to the hospital!! I've been out of the loop dealing with the death of Jerry's SGT Major and helping out his wife and daughter and their extended family that's here. The funeral/memorial service was today and it was so nice. Jerry gave such a great talk...funny and touching and a real tribute to Mike..Jerry is really taking it hard. I'm hoping to get back on some sort of track although I have to admit I've just been living in a fog since I've been back from Jonesboro. I just can't seem to shake the cobwebs in my head and I'm still just plain tired...It's 9:30 at night right now and I've already fallen asleep on the couch twice since I got home from the memorial at 6. It's only Tuesday, but it feels like it should be Friday!! I'm glad Dad is okay...I wish Mom would eat...I wish I lived closer...so thankful for those that do live close. Our weather can be summed up in one word..well 2...rainy and yucky! Love you, Jamie

Well you miss a couple of days on here and BLAM things happen!~LOL I'm glad Dad is okay at least and I know what you mean about the "sleeping with your eyes open" because Leisa has done that all her life and it's totally freaky!LOL Sorry Leisa if you read this!LOL We survived Katilyn's graduation last night and now her 18th birthday is tomorrow and I'll try to get back on schedule with going to see Mom and Dad. I know Fara is having her baby early this coming week (YEA~~~) and hopefully by the middle I can come up and go check then. As for bad weather, we got a LOT of rain with some flooding but no hail or anything. I am already dreading the hot weather since it's suppose to be back to 90 today!~ YUCK! Love to all, Judy

Pat and I were going to LNC today when Debbie called to say Dad had fallen and hit his head. She thought he was fine, BUT policy said he had to be sent out to be checked. They sent him to St Bernard's and everything was fine. He talked not too good at times and ok at others! He kept asking Pat if MOM had flown to London! LOL! He'd heard us talking about Molli flying there! Anyway, we followed the ambulance back to LNC to make sure he was fine. They got him lunch, and he was eating when we left. Mom was asleep the whole time. The girl said she'd slept all during lunch. They had tried to wake her to eat (she was in the cafeteria in her chair) and would tell them to leave her alone. I asked if she'd not slept last night and that girl didn't know. She did say Mom had eaten all her breakfast---that was good. She was doing the 'sleeping with her eyes open' thing! I don't like that look at all! Anyway, they were ok, I guess! As for the storms the other night---we didn't get them. We did get some rain, but even that wasn't what they'd predicted! Ok love you all, Jeanie
Well, I can't believe all of the stuff that's happening with Mom and Dad. Poor them!!!!!! I was wondering the same thing about LCN having a problem with keeping them if Mom continued to bite and hit. I'm sure that they will take into consideration her state of mind (or lack of it) if the time comes and they have to make a decision. It's hard for me to imagine Mom and Dad fighting to where they have to be broken apart since I never saw that (or don't remember) that happening when I was growing up. Randall and I have loved looking at the old pictures and things that were in my sack. MEMORIES!!MEMORIES!!! Did you all have any bad weather over there the last few nights? We had an awful hail, wind, and rain storm Wednesday...ruined roofs and broke out windows in houses and cars all over town. Randall didn't put our truck in the barn and it got some hail damage, but not as much as others in town. Love ya'll, Ona
Jamie, Pat Wallace called about a month ago or so. I told her about Mom and Dad and she said she'd tell the others over there. I'm assuming Phil knows, but I haven't ! They all wave and talk to them and one came over and kissed Mom on the head even. One lady was having a hard time in the cafeteria, and there were 3 people worrying and working around her. When it was all over Nikki was saying something about Dad and his potassium and they now checked on that, etc. I do think they care and try! I'm going to see them again today and will write later. Love you all, Jeanie

Jamie I don't know the answer to the question about moving Mom out but when Jeanie went to the "meeting" after that happened, they didn't mention it. Not sure if it's happened again since then either. I know for sure that she "smacked" Jessica on Mother's Day weekend when I was there because she told Jeanie that she had. I had a weird thing happen tonight when I was at my sewing group at church because LNC called me and said that Dad was convinced and rather upset because someone had told him that I was in the hospital! She said that she thought if he talked to me that it would reassure him, so I did. I told him that I was fine and at my sewing group at church and he asked me to call him later after I was done. He said how long would it be and I told him about an hour. I called back after I finished and the girl I talked to said that she didn't know anything about that but that they were eating supper. I asked her to tell Dad that Judy had called and I was fine and would be there to see them in a few days. She said she would. Hopefully he didn't remember he had even thought something was wrong. Jeanie had been there today till about 2 she said and he hadn't said anything. It was about 4 when I talked to him. Really weird! Jeanie said they were ok today when she was there. Love to all, Judy
If Mom continues to bite and hit and be ugly to the staff, will LNC force us to either put her on something or move her out? I worried about this when I was there, but didn't want to bring up the subject to the staff. I can't believe Dad has gotten where he's so out of it too. Somehow it was easier to deal with all of this thinking Dad still had his wits about him...Dad led quite a life as a younger man...maybe his "stories" are just parts of past reality!! I've got to remember to look for that Shelton Gang book on Amazon...I think that's where Phil said he found his copy. Speaking of Phil...do they know what's happened to Mom and Dad? I haven't seen that side of the family in several years...sad. Hope all is well with everyone...Love you, Jamie

I went to see Mom and Dad around noon today. They were okay. Mother was asleep in her wheelchair and her lips were really dry. Nikki said she had put some stuff on them to try to help. She ate very little at lunch. Dad fed her a spoonful of his mashed potatoes and she ate them. It was so cute, but sad. Dad ate really good. He dropped a few green peas on the floor and kept trying to pick them up. I told him it was okay, but he insisted they needed picking up so I went over and got them off the floor! Anyway, they were okay. love you, pat

Ok, I went to see Mom and Dad today. It wasn't really a good day. They were both out of it! Dad started with telling me he was out of money and the machines were quiet since they didn't drop money and ended with him telling me he'd been on an airplane ride yesterday to a mansion in Caruthersville with the guy that owned it and being one of three that went to a special meal! No clue! Mom was Mom. One of the nurses, aides, whatever came up to me to tell me that Dad had hit Mom on the arm this morning and they'd had to write a report about it. Mom wasn't hurt, but they had to separate them, etc. Who knows!Nikki called me last night and told me Mom had bitten twice yesterday morning! Not good! Mom did tell me today that she needed to go pee. I helped her and she peed a ton! Anyway, I left them with lunch. Mom was all over the place today. I chased her down twice to bring her to lunch. That's good. Hey, my philosophy was they were being watched, fed, and taken care of for today. That's about it! Anyway, love you all. Jeanie
Ona you might have been the one that posted comments but didn't sign it. I think Jeanie was just asking which one of you had written. I know that Leisa and Jody both posted how horrible it is to try to revive someone when they are gone. It IS very aggressive and according to Leisa painful and horrible. I hope they both go peacfully in their sleep a long long time from now!~ Love to all, Judy
Good morning everyone!!!I thought I had given my feelings on the DNR orders, but knowing me I probably hit the delete button instead of the post one. I don't want them to have to be workded on like that if it's their time. I feel that time should be as peaceful as possible. In watching TV shows (and I know they are real:) it seems like that would be a very aggressive procedure and they are so frail. It seems like Dad was having some reality problems the other day. Thanks for all of the updates. Love, Ona

Judy and I went to see Mom and Dad yesterday. Dad had been to Evansville on a plane, stripped, etc. He was not too good. Mom was in a mood. The young girl that's always been so talkative wasn't yesterday which was weird. I asked her what was going on with Dad, and she said he'd had a bath----but Mom was on a roll yesterday. Mom had 'smacked' her! Not good! Michael Smith (the administrator) had told me earlier that they don't medicate people without cause, but they have to be able to approach the resident and care for them without fear of being hit, etc. He said something about sending them to a behavorial place --- that he'd done it to his own step-mother. Anyway, Mom hitting is NOT good. Pat and I went to see Chad (the lawyer) yesterday, too. Basically it's still a mess financially. There's still too much money floating around in accounts for them. He said that it's a possibility that they'll have to be private pay for 9 months instead of 7! Medicare paying for Dad these two months has messed all that up + Dad's teacher's retirement checks setting in his trust account is TOO much money, too! Anyway, he's not going to start the medicaid process until July or August when things have calmed down some with their accounts! Anyway, I'm procrastenating (sp?) instead of cleaning house and doing errands like I should today. Just not in the mood to do it! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie OH, and P.S. I still need Jamie, Ona, and Pam's idea on the DNR. Sorry for the reminder!
Hey, Happy (belated)Mother's Day!!!! We got out at 12 on Friday and Monday was a snow day, so I stayed in the country until this morning...drove in at 4:30. Only 13days left:) YEA!!! I was glad to hear that Mom and Dad were good. Jeanie the song you talked about is sad. This time of year is always emotional to me because first it's Mother's Day, then my birthday (OMG) and then it's our anniversary...these are happy times but too much to close together:) Good to read things from all of you. Love, Ona

Happy Mother's Day to all of you! Judy said that Mom and Dad were good today! That is great! Nikki came and told Pat and Judy both that the doctor had written new orders on them. For Mom he had ordered another CBC and wanted to start her on a multivitamin as well as iron. They told Nikki that Mom can't take iron anymore than they could and she said that she would make a note about it and watch her. They said that the multivitamin would be fine. They also wanted to do a stool sample for bleeding we assume but they told Nikki it was fine to do it but that we wouldn't be interested in doing anything about it if they did find something! She thought they were doing it because her CBC is low but it always is. For Dad the doctor wanted to increase his insulin a small amount (2 units more in the morning and also at night). They told her that we all felt that it was already too much insulin! His blood sugar today was 99 which again explained that it was too low for Dad. She said that he had also ordered the blood sugar test where they can see what it has been running for the past few months. She was calling the doctor and telling him that just because he saw where it was 140 that it was not a true picture. She was going to tell the doc what it has been running and then we wait till the blood test comes back before adding any additional units. Judy and I will go back over tomorrow and go over this again with the nursing staff on duty tomorrow. They both ate pretty good with Dad eating more of course. She and Pat took Mom a mother's day present and she was so excited. The nursing home had given all the women pink corsages today and Mom was emotional when she first arrived. She called her by name though when she saw her and Judy was excited. Dad told Mom she was already beautiful when Judy mentioned how pretty Mom would look in the top and pants which was so sweet. Dad also made an interesting comment to Pat at lunch. Someone was coughing and Dad said "yeah a lot of the people in this nursing home cough". Interesting! Hope all had a good Mother's Day! Love to all, Jeanie
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!! Hope all of you have a great day today! I was rocking Addison this morning and watching the country music videos and Randy Travis sang this song called "Angel". It was so sad - it said "if you don't believe in Angels then look into the eyes of your Mother." Pretty true! Anyway, love you all! pat

I'm so glad that LNC did the tea for Mother's Day and that it was so nice....glad to hear so many of the residents families came out as well...the 2 weeks that I was there, I saw very few other family's at LNC...they sure can't say that about the Shelton Gang!! Happy Mother's Day to all of you...here's hoping you get to sleep late, don't have to do any laundry, don't have to do any cooking, don't have to do any cleaning, you just get to lounge in your pjs all day in total peace and quiet doing whatever it is you want to do with absolutely no interruptions.......DREAM ON!! You're Mother's, that ain't gonna happen, but I hope you have a great day anyway!! :) I love you, Jamie

Jeanie, Jerry and I went to the Mother's Day Tea today at LNC. It was SO nice!!
They had the food and drinks set up in the "feeding" area and the patients and guests were all in the dining area. They had a huge "Mother's Day" cake plus cookies, cheese & crackers, chips and dip, fruit, nuts, punch and coffee. It was really sweet. There were a whole lot of people there and I was glad so many turned out. Mom and Dad seemed really good! Jeanie took some pictures so maybe she'll have them on here in a few days. I told her if I could do it, she could! Anyway, it was a nice visit and I appreciate all the thoughtfulness the center put into the tea. They also had a lady playing the piano. Dad ate a lot and Mother ate quite a bit for her. I'm planning on going back on Sunday. love you, pat

Thanks for the kind words, but it just a big deal for all of us. I just wish we could save even one family from all the trouble, pain, and worry we've had to deal with over this whole thing. Surely, there has to be a guide somewhere! If not, then that's our goal on this thing---guidance for the rest of the baby boomers with aging parents---well that and the next generation that has US as aging parents! LOL! Love you all, Jeanie

I agree with you, Judy about the DNR and Jeanie. Jeanie has the burden of a lot of this "red tape" that has to be done. She and I will meet with Chad Monday at 4:00 and maybe we'll find some answers. Jerry and I will be going to the Mother's Day Tea tomorrow at LNC between 2:00 and 4:00 so I'll report my findings sometime tomorrow. love you all, pat
well I know you know my vote is FOR DNR orders because as previously mentioned on here, CPR, chest compressions and trying to bring one of them back is horrible according to Leisa and Jody. I want them to go when God is ready for them, with nothing but peace and no pain. That's my prayer now and has always been. So my vote is yes is you're keeping a tally. I'll be up to see Mom on Sunday and will report after my visit. Keep up the good work Jeanie because we couldn't do all of this stuff with Mom and Dad, LNC and their finances without you. I am so thankful we have you! Love to all, Judy
Ok, my secretary hasn't posted for me today, so here goes! LOL! I went down to see Mom and Dad today and to attend a meeting about them at LNC. Dad was standing up and trying to type in a code to get out the back door when I rounded the corner. The patio out there is really big and was so pleasant today! I took them out there and then left for the meeting and then took them back out there again! I also took Dad a big bag of tobacco. They give him some in a cup + a clean cup. For some unknown reason, he spits into the cup of tobacco and NOT into the clean cup. I kept telling him today to use the other cup, and he finally said he didn't know how he'd chewed all this time without me! I cracked up! Anyway, Dad said a lot of things today that didn't make sense. He was trying to get to Charleston when he was trying to get out the door. Then he kept saying something about dogs in the basement and something that would lift him up on the roof---lots of stuff. He was tired and fell asleep in his chair the second time I took him outside. Mom kept falling asleep, too. The meeting was about their general progress. Dad is not taking any kind of drugs that would mess with his thinking. In general there wasn't much to say about him. He's lost 8 pounds since he has been there, but he eats a lot! They all said the thing about him eating his and Mom's! Dad will continue on therapy for about 2 or 3 more weeks. Right now Medicare is scheduled to pay for him through May 26. That can change to less or more time. Mom's report wasn't bad either. They're going to start giving her a supplement that she can drink for extra calories, etc. She's getting the seraquel at night because her 'sundowners' in worse late afternoon/night. She has the skin tears that they're treating. She is a little hoarse and coughing some, but seemed fine. One of the cafeteria workers came out on the patio when we were out there. She said that Mom and Dad were her favorite people there! She just talked to them and gave Mom a hug, etc. She said Mom called her her angel. She said it made her feel good. She was sweet. Anyway, I asked in general how they all thought that Mom and Dad were doing, and they said ok. I asked about Dad mentioning going home---they all said they'd never heard him say anything about it. They said Mom was always looking for J.R.! Anyway, they were both fixing to lay down for a nap when I left. The meeting did have one question I couldn't answer. They wanted to know about the CPR order and if we wanted it changed. I asked what their DNR order was exactly. Becky said that if they went in and they were in distress but were breathing and had a pulse, then they called the doc, me, the hospital----they did everything they could. If they went in and there was no breathing and no pulse, then they didn't do CPR, etc to try to bring them back. I need to know EVERYONE's opinion on this. IF you have ANY questions, CALL the nursing home and ASK anything. If we decide to put the DNR orders on file, then I have paper work that has to be filled out. I told them that that was a decision that the 6 of us would have to make before I did anything. They were not putting any pressure on me to do it, it was a question about our wishes only. Ok, now I know why I don't do this often! LOL! Tomorrow they're having a Mother's Dad reception from 2 to 4. I'm going to try to go and so is Pat. Love you all, Jeanie

I'm adding this note as Jeanie's secretary! I figure if she has the time to go visit with Mom and Dad that I can make the time to post her note! LOL She said that Mom was in bed and she didn't get to talk to her. The nursing staff said that they had started Mom on an antibiodic for an upper respiratory infection. She evidently was coughing but she's not running any temp. They said that when someone in the nursing home starts with a problem in the respiratory line that they start medication to prevent it from getting out of hand. Sounds logical to me. I like that she's not running any temp at least! Dad was doing okay. He seemed to need a nap to Jeanie but of course he told her that he didn't. LOL Dad did eat all of his lunch and then Mom's! They said that Mom pretty much ate nothing. Dad said she had a couple of bites. She has a few extra pounds on her though and obviously isn't starving! She did eat breakfast but not sure how much. Jamie called Jeanie while she was visiting and Dad got to talk to her. Jeanie and then Jamie (I talked to Jamie after she had talked to Dad) both said his speech was a little garbled and not exactly sure what he said but was carrying on a good conversation about something! LOL Jeanie said Dad was glad to get to talk to her. As for me, I had my repeat Mammo yesterday and it was the same as the last one with the little abnormality that he thinks is a lymph node. I now go back in 6 months for yet another one! I'm kinda tired of these things!LOL Love to all, Judy

Molli and I went to see Mom and Dad today about 12:30. What time did you go Jeanie? Anyway, they were both fine. Mom was glad to see Molli even though I don't think she knew who she was. She asked Molli and I if we were the same age! I thought it was funny - Molli didn't! hee hee! Anyway, Dad had eaten most of his lunch and then finished off Mother's cheetos. Mother had not eaten much at all. One of the ladies was trying to get her to eat some more. We went down to the nurse's station to get Dad his tobacco. Nikki said they had been fine, but like Jeanie said, had had some diarhea (msp?) earlier in the morning. I asked Molli what she thought about LCN and she said it was okay , but "sad". She was really nervous about seeing them there, so I was glad they were having a good day. I actually thought Mother was better than Dad. Dad didn't have much to say and I don't like that. I asked him if it had stormed last night and he said yes, but never mentioned the storm shelter time. Anyway, so far, so good. Love you all, pat
p.s. I got my cholesteral results today from my test I had done last Friday and my overall was 134 (should be under 200) and my LDL was 66 (should be under 100)!!
Those 80 mg. of Simvastatin are awesome! hee hee! Bring on the chocolate!!!

This is actually a post from Jeanie via me! LOL She went to see Mom and Dad today and they were both fine--tired but fine. She said Dad was in bed asleep when she first got there but did wake up and talked coherently. Mom was up in a wheelchair sleeping at first but woke up and was in a crying mood. She gets this way when she's tired and eventually Jeanie put her to bed and she instantly feel asleep. Dad even told Jeanie to shut out the light because maybe Mom would take a good nap and he was going back to sleep too! LOL We had major storms last night and evidently they had to move all the residents to the inside hallway. She talked to Nikki too and she said that Mom wasn't getting the Theraquil even at night now since the orders were deleted for the 2 that the psychiatrist had ordered and she thought it was deleted at night too accidently but that she would watch Mom and if she was the same with or without it at night, they'd just keep it stopped but if she started having trouble sleeping she'd get it added back at night only. Mom also has 2 new skin tears on her arm that was almost healed. The nurse told Jeanie that they had showered her and put a short sleeve tee shirt on her and before they could add anything to her arm, she had torn the skin again. Jeanie took her 2 more zipped hoodies today and I'm going to look at my walmart to see if they have any in her size because Jeanie could only find 2 at hers. All in all the bottom line is that they were both about the same as normal. Dad did have some diarrhea this morning Nikki said but his blood sugar was find and also his food intake was fine. Love to all, Jeanie and Judy. LOL
